Basically allow non authenticated hosts on 802.11 networks to send and receive up to 2kb of data per request.
Why:
Stolen devices such as laptops and consumer devices rarely have GPS technology inside them. As a result tracking down a stolen laptop requires the device to be turned on without being wiped and attached to a network in addition to having your own script on it. Highly unlikely if a thief is worth his money.

802.11 has no concept of "requests", it's just ethernet frames. Learn how to OSI model.

Just remove the BIOS clock, reset the BIOS and flash it with some own custom stuff.

I want to learn really low level stuff.
I am okay with higher level C++ and awesome with Python, but recently I've been wanting to learn C, Assembly, and electronics/EE.
What are some resources I could use for this?
I started off with a PIC16F628A microcontroller and a bread board.
Reading data sheets and searching the web I put together a serial programming circuit and got started. I taught myself MPASM and was was good, fucking around with LEDs and 7 segment displays.
I then moved up to USB capable 18F series and did some cool shit with that, all in C.... bit banging a graphical LCD screen and what not.
Of course, this was 10+ years ago. I guess Arduinos are way easier to get started with. Start off with assembly and once you've got a decent understanding of...

Don't learn assembly, it's pointless except for a very small set of extremely specific tasks. 99% of low level work is done in C.

Digital Research DOS is apparently capable of this but I can't find any manuals.

The same way you telnet into any system: by having a telnet server installed in the target system. No idea if MS-DOS telnet servers exist, though.
You also need a TCP/IP stack. IIRC those exist for MS-DOS.
But I'd seriously look into that serial access instead of TCP/IP. Ethernet-to-serial converters exist, but I have no idea how well they work, or if they even are usable to you.
I think freedos has a tcp/ip stack.

My computer has seen better days. I've been thinking about upgrading parts to bring myself back into PC gaming.
