Does /g/ remember when apple invented the first smart watch?
Apple invented the GUI, the mouse, the touchscreen, the smartphone, the smartwatch, the all-in-one, etc.
>>54727389
They invented everything, again.
the chink that decided the strap was a good idea was the inventor

7-Zip 16.02 was released a few days ago.
Are you going to upgrade?
You know you are.
>>54726664
Can 7 zip zip and unzip rar files? Do they still refuse to provide an official OS X build?
>>54726664
why can I not update 7-zip from within 7-zip in [current year]
or preferably even check auto-update periodically and do it silently

Thoughts? Is switching the focus from specific literal code/script to implementing a learning system not already done in programming today? I suppose this is drifting towards artificial intelligence, but if not, what kind of data structures would accomplish this? It is probably partially sensationalism, but idk industry is bound to change.
Machine learning is a meme.

Any good summary of database normal forms?
I'm having trouble understanding BCNF.

Not the worst explanation. But normalization is generally done by very experienced db designers. Focus more on dml and less anime

I realize this isn't tech support but I'm not terribly experienced with computers and I'm not sure how to accomplish what it is I want to.
I'm starting a new build that is going to be a "Weyland-Yutani" themed computer from the Aliens movie. On startup, I would like the computer to boot and run through (nonsensical) lines of code and such, before having the Weyland-Yutani logo (with the computer voice saying "Weyland-Yutani, building better worlds) pop into view.
I don't know how to accomplish this. It is going to be a gaming...

You can make a simple text file and give it the extension ".bat" to make it an executable batch file. A shortcut to that in your Startup folder (in the Start menu) will make it open on startup. The contents of the file will run inside of a terminal window. Using the "echo" command you can make the terminal print out whatever text you want, including an ASCII version of the Weyland-Yutani logo. It can also call a sound file to play at the same time.
To hide the Windows logo and what not, go to Start -> Run -> and type "msconfig." There's a checkbox somewhere in there for taking away the graphical stuff during the Windows bootup.
>>54725966
Alright, thanks. But is there no way to open an actual graphic like pic related?
>>54726023
There is, but that's an answer you should be able to find straight from Google. I only explained the other stuff because it was more involved than a one-step task.
Ok, so I live with my friend, let's call him Paul, who refuses to use good web hygiene. We both share the same computer, It has good specs. As I'm writing this my computer is in fucking shambles. Whenever I type a key it shows up a second later. I can no longer play any games, except for shitty flash games from 2004. I only use the computer on trusted sites and only download things that I know for a fact are safe. If I wan't to download something I use the Bomber Laptop, I call it this as it is slow as shit and has every decent antivirus under the sun installed...

Are RFID shield wallets memes?
Do they really protect your identity and card numbers from being stolen?
Wouldn't it just be easier to steal the whole wallet?
Only from casual theft. A corrupt merchant could still steal at POS and like you said a theif can still take the damn thing.
Google it.

Overclock CPU to ~4.5GHz and buy a new graphics card. No point in getting a 1080 or something because your CPU will bottleneck it in most games, but something like a used 780 or 970 would still give you a noticable performance uplift. Normally I'd recommend an AMD card (especially if buying used), but their driver has a high CPU overhead and that's not good with a weak CPU like that.

Are ergonomic mice a meme?
Most of em just look deformed and pigfat. Is there something Im missing?
they are meant to fit your hand is a specific way. i use one and it's much better than my other mouse.
ambidextrous mice are the real memes
>muh zowie
It all depends on your hand comfort really. I used a trackball almost all my life so I didn't move on to actual mice until I started playing CS 1.5
I had the logitech laser mouse (first one they made, with the charger and it looked hideous) and it weighed and moved like a dense poop, and also felt like a smooth dense poop across the mouse pad.
I moved onto the logitech mx 1000, then the mx lazer because of how cut-out the thumb rest was for my thumb and let if naturally rest on a button below it not feeling at all awkard.
I went to a deathadder which...
