Can't wait to see all the people switch away from Chrome/Chromium to Firefox.
More secure, more private, has a Chrome like UI now too and finally Chrome extensions work with it.
No one who loves Chrome has a reason anymore to stay with it. It is time to leave the Botnet behind and send Google to the place they belong: the trash!
Go Mozilla!
>>54749574
Other than google's own extensions, are there really any chrome-exclusive extensions?
>>54749574
With how sjw have taking over firefox in the past year... I won't put my money on anything they make these days.
>>54749574
Fuck Mozilla
Facebook is technology.
/g/ convince me to not use Facebook.
I have avoided it since the beginning but my life is getting pretty lonely now that my ex-fiance literally destroyed me.
Being surrounded by riced PCs, mechanical keyboards, and anime figs everyday isn't filling the void. This was okay when I had someone for the past 10 years. I didn't feel like a loser.
Would I be betraying Stallman? Is there a better option?
How does FSF fill the lonely void?
What do I do /g/
Do I fill the void with more consumer technology?
>>54749492
>Facebook is technology.
No, it is not.
>>54749495
Shush now.
Convince me to buy more crap to feel like I'm in the cool kid crowd.
Proceed.
kike book is home of retards and liberal herrr derrs i dont know what bathroom to use is you really want to make use of that facebook account you would in fact delete that cancer
I'm in my 20s with no real education or job history. I'm a self taught programmer and sys admin. I've been hired to do back end programming and sys administration in the past, but poor mental health caused me to just stop responding to my bosses and I lost the jobs each time.
I have a fairly good grasp of networking and have done some "reverse engineering" related to networking for clients, contributed to a high networking library, and written a really bad HTTP proxy with low level sockets, and done other things with low level sockets to learn...

Okay, we've had countless "what's the best firefox fork" threads in the past.
What's the best chrome flavor? Wich one has the least backdoors and the most redpills?
The SRWare Iron logo always triggers me in how ugly it is.
Chrome.
The forks are all shit.
>>54749333
Why is this thread still happening? It's shit.
You're shit.
Eat shit you shitting shit.
Hello /g/entoomen,
I am trans. I am a pre-install trans-operator. I was born into using Microsoft Windows and the NT kernel, but am currently preparing for my transition to the GNU/Linux operating system and the kernel that my feelings truly are deep down, the Linux kernel.
I hope that during my transition you can accommodate me. My pronouns are GNU/He, GNU/Him, and GNU/They.
This thread should act as a general discussion for trans-operators making the transition from one ecosystem to the next.

Anybody used one of these? Looks pretty comfy.
Well seeing as they aren't available to buy yet I don't think you'll find many people. I pre-ordered the board, not the whole Gameboy enclosure shit.

The post says 05/26/16, so I guess 1916?
Why is Linux support for Intel atoms so bad? I have 2 PCs, both running an atom SoC.
For my d2550, there's no graphics drivers on Linux so I'm stuck with half assed open source drivers.
For my z3740 netbook there's no wifi and touch screen isn't working.
What gives? How can we ever expect Linux to take off if it's going to completely ignore the lower end of the market?
because linux is a fucking server os and the only use case for atoms is as extremely low powered servers
>>54749092
I'm talking about distros focused around bringing Linux to the desktop, like Ubuntu.
>>54749116
They are still "bringing" it.
What OS would /g/ recommend for a midrange system that needed to handle an application that serves 2500-5000 concurrent users, and requires at least 3 processor books?
GNU
>>54749029
quite honestly it depends on how much the application needs to be updated.
if it requires maintenance or updates of any type your best bet will always be the latest matured edition of Windows Server
otherwise if its more along the lines of "deploy and forget" you can choose linux of just about any flavor.
>>54749029
16.04 server
What's the best antivirus for Linux?
>>54749013
only windows gets viruses noob
disabled root
>>54749013
If you use linux on a home pc you already have a virus.
I am currently building a custom GNU/Linux distro from the ground up (LFS) that has NodeJS at the core of everything it does.
This is what I have right now.
If there are any other software engineers/devs that would like to work on this project with me, I would love to share with you more of what I have and hopefully have you join the team (of one at the moment).
>>54748970
why nodejs?
>>54749135
Why not? Sorry if it sounds rude etc, but I personally believe that this has great potential.
Right now it is reasonably quick (7-10 sec boot speed). It can be easily debugged and modified without too much effort. And the "shell" is very responsive.
Delusional? Probably.
>>54748970
I'll make the logo
