let's say you had 900 tabs open in firefox. mostly of 4chan threads that you kept open in the background, but never got around to reading them
would you go back and read them? or just start fresh with zero tabs, since you never visit those tabs anyways?
Latter
I would close the more banal or deleted from the archive ones, but try to work my way slowly through the rest of them.
>>55115104
but what if there's something i want to read again?
>>55115188
trying this
>down 100 tabs in 45 minutes
this is taking such a long time
Is this a meme distro? Does it offer any advantage at all over a good distro like Arch or Ubuntu?
>>55115072
I think it's more for people who use something like Red Hat at work, and want something they're familiar with at home as well. Never used it personally though, so I could be wrong.
>>55115072
>Arch
>Ubuntu
>good distros
kek, of the three distros you mentioned Fedora is the only good one.

Should I buy this laptop? My budget is $130 and I need something decent just for web browsing, watching videos in 1080p and the fact it has an SSD and 8GB of RAM is kind of convincing...

This guy has 100% positive feedback. Smells like shit
T400 is pretty old. I doubt it could even play 1080p video smoothly.

You can always fork and develop your GTKfork on your own.
Imagine how the world would be better if you could always fork Windows.
>>55114088
You don't need to fork Windows because literally everything is programmable with Win32 libs, not that you'd know anything about that because you're a ricer babby
>>55114088
I really wish someone would just do that. Qt is just way overkill if al you want is a UI toolkit.
It seems like they are done. Nothing notable.
Seriously, what's the point of this?
>>55113757
Normies sure losing their mind over it. I'm personally more interested in Google's assistant coming in in chats to look up stuff.

No, but why any of this? Isn't a simple text-based conversation enough?
I have a pc with dual 8 core xeons that I built for gaming but is idle almost the whole day (and even when gaming cpu is at like 5%)
I'm NOT looking at a vps scenario, just if there's something I can run in the background? (ex slicify before they died)
>>55113649
It won't make you money but you could always do protein folding with folding@home.
Bitcoin mining? I dunno how that shit works.

Are the rumours true anon?
Have AMD cucked Nvidia with the RX 480?
I've been out of the game literally since the release of the glorious 7970.
Assuming you want a benchmark factory instead of AAA goy works performance, sure.
>>55113648
any new "leaks"
as for op, probably yes, they effectively made anything below a 980ti irrelevant, if not at stock, at mild overclock, and nvidia has no answer, as they will either cannibalize 1070 sales or put a sku out for retards to buy and let it die.
they effectively made anything below a 1070 on nvidias side useless.
once vega hits, amd may make the entirety of the nvidia lineup pointless and they will get by till volta comes where they either have async or they die as a brand.
>>55113976
This. It'll perform worse in games.
>>55113648
Also, it's still not even at gtx980 performance, what the fuck are you shilling? Gtx 1070 and 1080 are still much better.
post sexy vintage hardware
That's not vintage hardware OP that's just a through hole board. Why do you idiots think anything that isn't surface mount has to be vintage?

What are the advantages/disadvantages of adding more threads to your cpu?
Would an i3 with 2 cores 8 threads, or an i7 with 3 cores 16 threads, perform better than the current lineup in multithreading?
Why does Intel only use 2 threads per core with hyperthreading?
What about GPUs? They're heavily focused on more cores. Why don't they add more threads through SMT?
Would an i3 6100 dual core with 8 threads multi task almost as well as an i5 6600 quad core?
Bump
>>55112537
Doesn't adding more threads hurt single thread performance?
>>55112537
A thread died for this shit so /sqt/
but I would imagine there would be resource issues on the die
such as cache issues and resource sharing, but I am not assuming to be a EE or some shit
I would also assume if you don't have to make hardware to support possible multi-way
accesses you could make assumptions about how each thread is allowed to use available resources
but again, I am basically just talking out my ass here.
There's a meme going around /g/ that a 480 can beat a 1070.
Amd Fucbois, Please provide proof of an OCed 480 beating a 1070
>>55112493

It wont, it's just shills lying

Why aren't you using Debian jessie, /g/?
Why would I switch from my beloved Arch to a lesser distro?
>>55112090

because i run os x. if i had to run linux, i'd run debian.
I couldn't find any iso with installer on gentoo's website, it just starts with this thing and says "boot: "
uhh what the fuck, did i get a faulty ISO? why does /g/ praise this piece of trash Linux
epic trole xd

Gentoo is a troll and a meme

Don't use the Gentoo install images.
Share tips on ricing.
Ricing GNU/Linux is not only made by choosing themes and color but what software goes into your computer. "Display Managers" are the login screens, "Window Managers" are the part drawing the borders, colors, etc, and "File Managers" are what handles how you browse your machine. More info:
