Is there any reason to use Blender other than it's free software?
>>55196308
Because it doesnt cost money. Is there any reason to use paid alternatives if youre not making money off them?
It actually has a much faster workflow when you get used to the interface. It's very hotkey centric.
>>55196336
This for me, it's weird when you start out if you're used to 3DSMax and the gang, but now I have a hard time going back.
With cycles and everything there's no reason to NOT use it unless you work in the industry and need some very proprietary plugins.
ITT: the most cancerous websites in existence
Pretty neat place to work. They have about 10 engineers serving 50m people a month
How would I go around making it so that when I press 1 on my keyboard, it's like pressing 1,2,3,4,5 as well? Maybe a small program?
Like if I was in word and pressed the 1 key, id see 1 2 3 4 5 in the document?
y tho

So Windows? Autohotkey.

Why?
>mfw buying swans m10 speakers and hearing them after years of shitty speakers
share good tech feels
>>55195866
Congrats you got a set of sweet speakers.
>TFW your cat chewed all the rubber around the speakers on your entire set of M10s
I almost killed her when I found out, but then I felt bad for having so much hate in me because she was a sweetheart otherwise and a kitten.

Swans (HiVi) M10s are for sale on Massdrop for 93 bucks.
I was debating those vs Micca MB42X + Cheap amp like Lepai 2020+ for a little more.
The Swans look gorgeous except that they lack shielding and the speaker cables aren't easily removed should they need replacing.
>mfw you save up enough money to get your own laptop and no longer have to share desktop with whole family
It's been ten years and few things have felt better than this.
Order a new psu so I can use a graphic card that required power. Didn't fit in the case. The psu was too small. No way ot keep it secure in there. So what I did? Threw the shit away. Brand new never used.
Bye bye

MSI are the only ones managing to keep the Pascal cards regularly in stock, so they must be in deeper with the Nvidia kikes than anyone. Nice try, shill.

Got a Linux-specific question? Search "flt" in the catalog, or go to https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net/flt (wait 15-20 minutes after asking your question)

Is the Dell XPS 15 the way to go if you want a gayman laptop? I have a 500 GB SSD in my current laptop that I can just put in it so the slow storage isn't an issue.
with Java... Every time I need to figure out a Java program, I end up being in almost physical pain. Huge trees of empty nested directories and files with nothing but method definitions that do nothing but return a property... or, better yet, tons of empty functions called pure virtual.
It's hard to feel the logic and necessity of code when you can't stop being flabbergasted why the language has to be so verbose and complicated.

I feel your pain, man.
I just walked out of a meeting where the consensus was "I'm tired of fixing this crap can't we just kill it and start over? Everytime I change that mess of spaghetti it breaks something else"
I admit I was wrong. Ubuntu is the fucking best and has done more than any other distro to make Linux easy for normal serious use.
I now truly see why Debian developers created Ubuntu.
FBI uses Ubuntu
CONGRATULATIONS OP
Instead of using an OS as a "normal serious" tool you are distro hopping and doing nothing but posting stupid threads on 4chan.
Great blog.

Congratulations Ubuntu
I have about 5 weeks free and I want to spent it buried in tech books learning shit.
ITT: Recommend me (and /g/) any tech book you think is good.
Can be on anything: networking, coding, systems admin, computer science, how-to-do-x, etc.
Can be at any level: beginner to advanced.
After I installed Gentoo I really learned Linux from this.
http://www.ic.unicamp.br/~pannain/mc404/aulas/pdfs/Art%20Of%20Intel%20x86%20Assembly.pdf
This should keep you occupied for a few weeks
>>55195207
>Can be on anything
>Can be at any level
You'll learn nothing.
>>55195985
if it's a book /g/ recommends, they're pretty much guaranteed to.
