This thing still does amazing in 1080p despite being so old and can be found for dirt cheap nowadays, and is only getting better with driver updates.
Is the 280x the i5 2500k of GPUs?
>>51515091
nah the i5 of GPUs is obviously the GTX 970
I got an i5 2500k back in 2011...didnt know it was so good...still OC at 4.2
I still use a 7870. You save a lot of money on stuff like this when you stop playing video games.
Why the hell does this happen? My Note 4's battery seems to die or almost die randomly every so often. It will be at a decent percent, say 40% or more, and suddenly my screen flashes the Samsung logo and I can't turn my phone back on because it's dead. Any of you ever had this happen?

Why buy this and not the anker 2 pack from amazon?
Have any of the mass surveillance programs actually stopped any terrorism?
>>51515032
That's classified.
Terrorists in France were communicating with each other openly though, their phones were unencrypted and their messages were in plaintext.
>>51515032
Yes, but nowhere near enough to justify keeping the programs.
>>51515032
you really think NSA or anyone else has the power to analyze all the shit on the internet in real time?
they collect data yes but they are not able to analyze all that shit LIVE.
They are only going to use the data to control you.

Does anybody know how I can remove these spaces? This is driving me crazy, they only appear when I add the names.

>STILL HAVE TO FUCKING REBOOT AFTER AN UPDATE
>OS FORCES YOU TO DO IT
We are in the year 2015 and we STILL have to fucking reboot every time there's an update? WHY IS THIS STILL A THING?! WHAT THE FUCK M$
Yeah I know Linux has to restart too but you can individually start services so you don't really have to AND IT DOESN'T FUCKING FORCE IT ON YOU
>>51514817
ok grandpa
>>51514817
>Yeah I know Linux has to restart too
not anymore kiddo

Considering to switch to Arch. How manyhours or so would it take to get it to be like a normal functioning linux desktop? to watch shit, etc. I heard it can be pretty long.
~30 minutes to install your first time
After that just install wm/de of choice and startx
>>51514836
thanks for the reply, so following the beginners guide and installing xfce would take less than an hour?
>>51514815
it only takes time if you do it manually, use architect/antergos/manjaro
>cue the arch purists to tell us that antergos and manjaro suck and there's no point to arch if you don't install manually

Great news.

But will it be great as it is in linux or it will be like mpv and GIMP?

I know right?

Why on earth is Dell selling computers with processors from 2009?
>>51514709
>processors from 2009
ti has something to say about that m8
>>51514852
Calculators and computers are two different kettles of fish. A calc from the 90s can still add, a computer from the 90s isn't even good as a Facebook machine.

Because retards will buy them
What file explorer are you using for Android and why isn't it MK Explorer.
After the ES fiasco, I think I found the GOAT file explorer.

>"AMD has shit drivers"
>"You should Try Nvidia again"
Meanwhile my 290x has been flawless since I got it on release day. And my Nvidia card is a paperweight right now. Go ahead and support the PC gaming holocaust that is Nvidia. Just don't pretend like you didn't blatantly defend a company that single handedly killed it.
Literally both have shit drivers because every company makes shit games with shit optimization.
Nvidia just pay companies to make games slightly less shitty for their video cards.
>>51514491
I've never used AMD desktop cards before, but just about every other WHQL driver from Nvidia has had some major problem with either BIOS, BSOD, artifacts, or lowered performance. I'm probably switching over to the red camp if Zen is at the level of my current i5-3570K. AMD's GPUs have already convinced me with their new driver suite. This is my second card after my first got RMA'ed for artifacting.
>>51514545
It's not just the drivers.
It's the drivers, the prices, lying about specs, terrible naming schemes, gameworks, and just other scumbaggery.
I'm upgrading my phone to either one of these phones, The Note 5 or The S6 Active.
Which would be best for a busy,"active", and double majoring college kid.
Active. You can read 'news' in the shower.

I'm on NoFap dammit.

Dell Dimension l100r reporting in. Just got this beauty and plan on adding an Ethernet and wifi card, plus a Radeon HD 9000. It came with a whatever sound card that's good enough for me.
Post your legacy PCs along with what you do with them.
Pic related, the Penty III next to its socket that came on this old Dell.

There is literally no point in repurposing anything before the core 2/Athlon 64 era.
>>51514510
I don't agree. I have another pentium 3 rig that my kids use as a web surfing/doing writing assingments pc and it does the job without a problem.

It's fun, deal with it.

Would you work on an atomic bomb? How about a new type of gun barrel? Math equation that ends up making hitting targets easier? Where do you draw the line if any?
Are you a statist who thinks he doesn't have to make this decision because it's higher ups job to decide whether to use force or not?
Yup, yup, yup. If we can increase weapon lethality, then infantry become less effective while bots become more effective. Thus less infantry will be put into combat.

Lol yeah I'm not a pussy lib

This is pretty good answer I think.
How about other possibly unethical technology like surveillance technology or torture devices?
