>we are giving away a free Raspberry Pi Zero on the front of each copy of the December issue of The MagPi
Buy a magazine, it comes with a free computer.
This is how we know we're living in the future!
https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/raspberry-pi-zero/
I can't help but think they made a terrible choice for the name of their magazine.
"It's a magazine about the raspberry pi and it sounds like magpie, which is the name of a bird!"
Yes, really clever. It would be fine if someone else hadn't done it first, an organisation called PIE called their magazine Magpie. And to make matters worse, PIE was the Paedophile Information Exchange.
But the free computer is pretty neat.

Some group that managed to exist openly in the UK in the 80s. It came up in the news last year and the RPi people are british so I'm surprised none of them thought to reconsider the name.
What is systemd and why there is so much discussion over it?

instead of initializing scripts and processes at boot one at a time it initializes them in parallel, making the boot time much quicker. It is seen as a good thing by a lot but imo it breaks UNIX principles of keeping things short, simple, clear and modular.

The last comment is pretty insightful, Mozilla is becoming a perverted Google 2, and i am not talking about them being like Chrome in look and function in every new Firefox version, no i am talking of that perverted Google mentality that the one with power can decided what is right and wrong!
This new SJW world makes me vomit! Fuck that shit!
>The latest stats show updates taking an average of seven (!) weeks.
so it can happen that an addon gets through review for version X just in time for the release of potentionally addon-breaking version X+1? Genius!
>>51540391
The whole add-on signing is only for one single goal - lock out all other Firefox code based browsers which do stray away too far like Seamonkey or Pale Moon and create a wallet garden - Only chosen ones are welcome!
>There seems to finally be a growing consensus around the need for a whitelist for extensions
So some extensions are more equal than others?
>This would be shocking if it weren’t so obvious. I asked in February how the scanner would possibly catch things like this, and the response from Mozilla’s Add-ons Developer Relations Lead was that most malware authors are lazy and that he believed the scanner could be made to “block the majority of malware”.

Where is the logic? Open new tab, so right becomes more important.
>>51540053
You open page A.
You open links B-N on new tabs.
You quickly read them.
You can close all at once.
>>51540314
Sill, they should change it to 'close tabs to the left'.
This isn't logical.
>>51540476
But new tabs open on the right side, anon.

Do you use your laptop or desktop more in university?
>>51539973
Seeing as I don't even have a full desktop with me in uni I use my laptop more.
Looking to build a mini ITX rig to fit in my room next year. Something I can throw in my bag when I visit my parents and just plug into power and peripherals no problem.
>>51540156
mATX is p small as it is. mITX is just too exotic and costs much more.
I've taken my laptop to a class twice in two years. And one of those times I didn't even use it. Other than that it stays in my room.
I found a very annoying bug in windows 10.
Every time you right-click any of the folders on the list on the left, either explorer crashes or the window closes.
I was saving the screen of what list of folders i was referring to, and when the "save as" window of paint opened i tried to right click on the same folder on the left on the save as windows, and paint crashed.
I'm the only one who is experiencing this issue?

Però questo problema mi è apparso anche nelle altre installazioni di windows 10 che ho fatto precedenti a questa, ed è in assoluto l'unico bug che ho mai experienced

My friend has around $780 to spend on a gaming PC.
I'm good at putting together PCs (as in physically putting the parts together) but I would like feedback on my parts list
(especially the graphics card, I have no clue what I'm doing there):
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/HXF8D3
-what could I do better?
-did I make any rookie mistakes?
>>51539665
anyone willing to give me feedback?
>literally shit tier PSU
>shit tier CPU cooler
Everything else is fine. Drop that cooler and tell your friend to save up $20-30 for a decent cooler and get a better PSU. Never cheap out on a PSU.
>500 watt psu

Steam OS and the Linux gaming push is fucking shit. Valve will not stick their millions in dota and CSGO hat money to pay developers to port their games and instead advertise for STEAM LINK support? Normies aren't going to buy an $800 computer with no games and shit performance.
never gonna get steamOS cause there's no games for it there's never gonna be games for it cause no one uses steamOS
You know it's for streaming to your living room right.
why was steamOS even created
