I'm a junior at uni studying programming and multi-core processing. Anyone out there with a 16 core cpu that could run this?

carpal tunnel
I type onehanded as it is kicking my ass atm
I have some wrist supports at work, not helping.
What do you use to prevent CT?
Vim style key bindings. Learn them, love them. Use them in your editor and your browser and your PDF viewer.
Look up a wrist/ hand stretching video on YouTube. Take a 5 minute break every hour or so and do the exercises.

This and I masturbate every 30 minutes of intense typing or every 2 hours of moderate PC use
Why are you still using GitHub? GitLab is actually open-source, the UI is cleaner, and you can have as many private repos as you want without paying.
>>52536731
I actually host all of my personal code on my own server with GitLab CE.
GitLab's CEO has expressed solidarity with Github in regards to deleting repos for political reasons, so I won't use either service. Self hosted is the way to go.
>>52536731
How can a web service be open source? That doesn't make sense at all.

>this guy
>someone asks for a case recommendation
>always fractal design
It's like Godwin's law but for people who think Fractal Design is "classy."
>>52536708
Name a quieter case for $80 than the R4/R5. ($70 right now at Newegg)
Name a feature that a more expensive case has that the R4/R5 doesn't that's worth the money.
If you're above the $30 basic box or the $50 Corsair 200R, what else is there?
>>52536708
As a Define R4 owner, there is nothing simpler and more elegant than this.
Everyone else I know who has a custom PC is either rocking an over the top hot wheels case, or a "classy" Corsair carbine that costs like $200, still looks like shit and built poorly.

>Name a quieter case for $80 than the R4/R5. ($70 right now at Newegg)
Can't compare them when they're on sale, you retard. But the Be Quiet Silent Base 800.
>Name a feature that a more expensive case has that the R4/R5 doesn't that's worth the money.
Subjective. Any case within the R5's non-sale price range will usually have the same features. It just becomes what black box you think is the prettiest.Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Are landline phones obsolete in 2016?
>>52536697
Not really. They're simpler, more reliable, and many people still use them.
Try 2012.
>>52536697
They've pretty much been obsolete for a while now.
I haven't had a landline in over 15 years.
I remember back in the day when everyone would play Halo 2/3 on splitscreen in parties of 4, drinking beers, playing together on xbox live or against others in the same house on LAN. Playing casual, but serious. Could see other peoples faces after a kill or event.
Now splitscreen is no longer a thing and virtual reality seems to have taken over or at least the shills say it has. They say that this the future. Are the good times gone? Is face to face in the same tv, coop gone for good? Are they really doing this to us?
Nah mate you just dont have friends

Hey nerds, what's the best anti virus?
>>52536427
Just unplug your Internet cable.

Windows Defender
You'll never have to worry about nasty malware or viruses ever again!
what's your favorite DE/WM? Currently using openbox but it requires a lot of configuration to get it all fancy shmancy and highly functional and I might want to switch, gnome looks kind of nice
i3 gaps atm
it looks fine to me as is. but if you do customize it, it's mostly just color schemes on terminals and frequently used programs to get it aesthetic.
>>52536423
Just switched from LXDE with openbox to Xfce with Xfwm. God this is so much better.
bspwm.
The configurability of it has made for an incredibly cozy WM.
Hey /g/ I want to get into programming things other than TI-84 calculators. What language should I learn and where can I find resources to learn?

I'll try that out. Is Python worth learning?
C++
I'm going to completely go off the grid.
Ways to do this?
Have a virtual machine, running linux ubuntu. encrypted HDD, encrypted the OS
Web browser running Firefox
Going to buy a VPN outside the US and use the VPN to connect to TOR network
Also want a way to leave no digital fingerprint on my andriod s6 but not sure how to go about this? I have a firewall that blocks all incoming/outgoing connections but I know Google is a huge bot net. Impossible?
TL;DR

You can't use a cell phone at all and be off-the-grid. Your telco and thus the NSA has permanent root on every baseband on their network.
it also depends on how hard they are looking for you
Just go live in a cabin in the woods without internet or phone access.
