>Preprocessor macros
>Operator overloading
Any other useless obsolete concepts I'm forgetting?
>>53752561
operator overloading is nice when you're doing something like defining a vector class.
granted, I've NEVER had to do that besides when I'm fucking around at home, during first year Uni, or at a job interview.
Still seems like somebody in the world had to make a vector class. he probably used operator overloading.
>>53752561
Preprocessor macros are really cool if you're into meme-tuning your languag for solo-projects.
Same for operator overloading .
Most of the C libraries and raw pointers.

Sounds to me like Linux is suffering.

The switch to Bluray was quite the bumpy ride to say the least and now they want everybody to go run out and buy 4K Blu Ray players?
These manufacturers are really out of touch and banalised the switch to HD 1080p Televisions around 2007-2010 to a mere people were so impressed with 1080p and now they think gramps will rush out and buy a 4K TV.
Was your encryption software written by a "real-life Bond villain" international crime boss? Yeah, didn't think so.

How would a government that runs solely on digital currency tax its citizens? It seems that, since it's very easy to create a new, anonymous address, tax fraud would be rampant.
Could a VAT-ish scheme be implemented - every transaction in the blockchain has a mandatory 0.2% fee (aside from the transaction fee) which is sent to the treasury? How hard would it be to enforce this?
>>53751414
not hard, but people would come up with a New system, so they Donat habe to pay these .2%. They just leave bitcoin.
>>53751499
Not talking about bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency in particular. I'm interested in a hypothetical scenario where a country abandoned paper money and made a cryptocurrency its official currency.

Federal Income Tax does not pay for programs - it is a myth that was dispelled in the 1980s by the Grace Commission. The same is true for any countries with a central bank.
Our tax code is so complicated that even IRS agents can't figure it out - it is magical thinking to assume that taxes are being calculated, collected and disbursed according to the government's official narrative.
Inflation is what pays for everything. The tax pays the bankers their counterfeiting fee. Attempts have...

I have this old Acer TravelMate c310 and was wondering what /g/ would install on it
>inb4 install gentoo
and what to use it for.
Specs: Pentium M @ 1.73GHz
256MB RAM
40GB @ 5400RPM HDD
I have Lubuntu on it right now but it's still pretty slow.
Try win 98 or win2k.
256MB ram is not really enough for winXP with SP3.
For linux there are few choices really.
Either going for a very minimal graphical setup like tinycore linux or puppy linux
or (what i'd do really)
going full stallman mode and using it in text-mode only.
for that ubuntu server, debian stable or maybe even centos should be plenty.
You could really learn some useful stuff when put in front of a mother OS without a gooeyyy
Nothing.
Let it rest already... It has not deserved this.
Also, if Lubuntu runs slow, everything will unless you have a very specific task for it to run only.
My answer to your question is. If you don't know what to do with it exactly, and you just want a full blown OS on it but Lubuntu runs slow, throw it away.

I'm building a PC for my dad. What OS should I use: Windows 7 or Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB N? I'm split down the middle, Windows 7 is spyware-free but Windows 10 boots a lot faster. Personally I use Windows 7, but then again I'm not a normie.

So what?
Captcha digitizes books
Captcha v2 makes better google maps/street view.
Maybe the machine learning algorithms can be stolen and then captcha will be useless
yay
How can you tell if someone has blocked you from their iPhone? Is there a certain number of rings you have to look out for when you call the number? And what about texts? How can I tell. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6. I'm just curious.
I can't imagine any reason you'd want to know this other than you're stalking someone
>>53750890
Lol, I'm not stalking anyone, I just talked to the person the other day, and I wonder if I made they mad. I don't know what I did wrong. But we did get in a fight. It's just weird, I might just be paranoid, but I don't know why they would just block me. Anyway, how can you tell?

I've been out of the anime game for a while. What's the preferred way to watch chinese cartoons on a laptop with Windows?
Last time I just used CCCP, and it seemed to work alright, but the black hues weren't really all that great.
Anybody got a better suggestion?

How many of you have your own domain and have roaming profiles set up on your home server? Is it worth it?

I'm actually curious about what hardware and software goes into making one

You have to use Windows Server if you're retarded like me and don't know how to set it up on Linux.
