I want to make my own webm's but the only way I can find to do it without shitty watermarks is to make it using Sorenson Squeeze, but I don't want to fork out $200 to help me shitpost unless it's absolutely the only option.
Are there any free alternative programs or websites that will convert a video file to webm without shitty watermarks?

I'm thinking about making my own vr headset. Is there any way to obtain a 5" 4k display like the xperia z5 has? with controller to connect to hdmi or whatever.
>>53828933
>4k display
>hdmi
I guess id you want to get30fps max which is horrible for a VR headset.
Man, why do people fuck up with the first step? These VR headsets aren't just a screen to your face. If you want that use a goddamn Cardboard.
It isn't just resolution. You NEED low persistence for VR to work comfortably. This means using a OLED panel and blacking out the screen at <2ms intervals.
>>53829001
I don't want to game, more into 3d simulation. 30fps is fine
You know how when you rub or press on your eye you can see lights and all kinds of little dots?
Are those little dots the pixels?

Here's the problem.
I have a hosted website.
When I try to upload files (I'm using filezilla but also with other softwares the problem remains)the files that have more than 2000 bytes won't upload.
It's not a connection problem because when I tried to go to my friend's house I used the same computer and the same files won't upload, but when I used his pc ALL the files uploaded.
I would be very grateful if you could help me figuring out what the problem could be and help me solve it.
As you can see by the image some files have 0 bytes...

what ftp clients did you use?
try another one, like WinSCP or filezilla (don't install the toolbar)
>>53828721
i think its a configuration issue with your client
I use filezilla and I tried also the other program. When i went to my friend's house I used Filezilla and it worked.

What is the problem? Your outdated OS or PC? It is 2016.

Should I be using CRF or Bitrate or combine both?ffmpeg -i input -crf 25 outputffmpeg -i input -b:v 2000K outputffmpeg -i input -crf 25 -b:v 2000K output
>>53828165
Separate
It depends on your target. If you want predictable bitrate of your final stream, then you should use 2pass --bitrate, otherwise you should use CRF.
>>53828663
>>53828677
What if you want CRF with a min/max rate?
Are you supposed to do that or does it defeat the purpose of CRF?

tldr: users are getting a warning every day because their xscreensaver is out of date. Not because they haven't apt-get updated, but because they simply won't get any better version for the debian they've installed.

its like you think the desktop thread fags are the best people to ask about what distro to use. Wheezy is EOL, Jessie doesn't get updates as per normal. Jessie backports should exist. If you need xscreensaver (which you shouldnt because Lightdm is better for this) you can go use the millions of Debian distros running Xfce (notably, Linux Mint 17 or LMDE2)
>>53827728
>a distro noted for its extreme stability doesn't upgrade itself
Gee I fucking wonder why.

I used the word can't instead of doesn't, hoping you wouldn't get triggered too fast.
Hello /g/
A family member of mine owned an important .com domain name, and, without telling me, didn't renew it.
Apparently HugeDomains.com registered it, and will only sell it for $2000. I can't snipe it, since ICANN says
>Domain Status: clientTransferProhibited
Which means it's locked, so I need the permission of the registrant to transfer it away.
Anyone have experience dealing with premium domain scams? I don't want to give them $2000, since it's extortion. Is there another way?
>>53827638
None that will cost you <$2000.
Renew your domains or lose them.
You either fucked up or are trying to socially engineer /g to help you scam someone. Either way you're a moron. If the domain is that important to you, buy it.
>>53827665
The family member in question owned our last name as a .com, and we'd been trying for years to get him to give it to us, but he refused. Faggot was in debt, so I assume that's why he dropped it. It's not impossible that he's behind the premium domain scam, to try to get $2000 our of us, but not so likely, as he doesn't have the kind of technical knowledge to even know what a premium domain is.

Is there a distro with an even more simple source package building system? Slackware maybe? I like how straightforward pkgbuilds are and I wonder whether there's something even more basic.
