Are there colors that are less taxing for the graphics card to display compared to others? Example - I'm guessing a 3D art wallpaper is going to need more resources than a simple solid gray background but is there a difference between displaying a particular solid color over another?
Should browser makers agree on a standard default media controls?
/ which do you like best, why?
Who made these icons and how did they do such a bad job?
Yes I think we need standards in modern browsers, for today's web. I think you'll find the controls which ship in Google Chrome to have, objectively speaking, the best aesthetics and ease-of-use: the kind of familiarity people have come to expect from the modern web of today.
Based on these facts I see no other choice but to standardize on Chrome's modern UI for HTML5 media element controls, if we're to push the web forward.

It's payday guys and my acer aspire is due for an upgrade the thing still werks but I want something that doesnt weigh 5 kilograms and have a shit screen. Whats the best looking laptop out there for under a grand (little over is fine) looking at macbook air atm
Hi /g/ I just got a new phone with Android Lollipop installed
What do I do now, this is babby's first Android phone
Apps to install, hacks, etc
>you can even run graphical applications through Ubuntu on Windows 10
*nix neets on fucking suicide watch
Why are you still using Dickbreeze 10?
the best browser became even better, lads
now with power saving mode
>We are the first major browser to include a dedicated power saving mode, designed to extend your laptop battery life by up to 50% compared with, for example, Google Chrome. Depending on your type of hardware, it can mean several hours more browsing before you need to recharge your laptop.
>The results from testing the power saving feature in this developer release show very promising results. In our test, designed to reflect the way people use browsers in real life, the latest Opera developer version was able to run 50% longer than browsers like Google Chrome on a laptop running Windows 10, 64-bit.
They will fail to compete against safari in osx and edge in windows, chrome is know for it's power hungry outside of chromeos, nothing new here, sadly. Testing methodology is also dumb, ad blocking enabled only in power saving mode (in their tests). So on one hand you have both opera and chrome without ad blocking loading all unnecessarily stuff and on other you have opera with ad blocking on in powersaving mode.
I currently have a mentally handicapped friend stuck in hospital for the last month, and I've been trying to find something to make his life suck just a little less than it does right now. I've managed to get hold of an old laptop running xp, and I've flushed out most of the crap, with the intention of having it for him to watch dvds on due to it having a reasonably sized screen. I also figure I can dump some vids on there via usb each time I visit to give him some new stuff to watch.
His mental handicap isn't extreme (he can hold a conversation) but...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I just did a Google search for "windows XP" & "media centre" to see if there have been any third-party shells or something, and lo and behold there's a first-party shell! Maybe look into that:
I want to be respected as a programmer.
Which programming language should I pick?
C or C++?
Programmers don't get respect, period.
You can get *recognition* by creating highly visible software. The guy who makes the flashy front-end animation showing arrows moving across a globe representing network requests will be lauded by management. The backend guy who made it all possible is just overhead.
>Who invented linux
>Richard Stallman is one answer
>Linus Fuckvald is another
>Pick the obvious choice
>Get it back
>Correct answer was Linus
FUCKING SHITS STEALING THE FAME AND GLORY FROM THE ONE TRUE CREATOR
Say someone was looking to learn a new language at the moment. What would be the most worthwhile to learn and have to longest lifespan?
Answer honestly: would you buy an iPhone/Mac if the price range were Redmeme/PC-tier?
I don't like iOS or macOS at all.
I also dislike how the latest macbooks are so thin and that their keyboards have no depth, their hinges feel fragile as fuck, and their CPUs have no cooling so they throttle to 800MHz when watching youtube.
You literally couldn't pay me to use apple shit.
Should I learn Java as a starter language if my main goal is to develop Android apps.
I always use a microfiber towel and if that isn't working I add some cheap glass cleaner.
>but anon, you have to use the TFT cleaner product or you will ruin your precious displays!!!11
Doing this for years and never had a problem.
>I add some cheap glass cleaner
Same here, but I do a "breathe at the display to add some moisture to the microbfiber" step first.
But I am still terribly worried that I will ruin my precious display.
that is the one benefit glossy CRTs had over matte TFTs. Glass is chemically very stable and also hard to scratch.
But other than that, matte > glossy every single time.
If you had sex with a male bodied android, would that make you gay? I mean, technically they don't have genders.
Yes, you will become gay if you have sex with a robot. You can try to exploit an overflow but I doubt your ass could handle it. 1.8E19 times is just too much even for an experienced cocksucker.
