My dad gave me this old external hard drive. It's 2 TB & got that bretty sexy black colour.
Let's see what we can do to make it as secure as possible. I was just thinking it would be kind of a fun project we could all talk about tonight.
> What should we encrypt it with? LUKS, VeraCrypt, or TrueCrypt?
I was leaning towards LUKS because I'm running Linux on this box, but I'm not sure if it's actually more secure to use TrueCrypt. You also can do hidden drives with TrueCrypt, and I'm...

Gentoo will make it secure

I'm not sure what you mean by this.

Elaborate? Right now there's one partition that has the NTFS file system on it. If I encrypt it in LUKS I obviously have to change the filesystem, but I was thinking about just keeping it NTFS and using TrueCrypt. I was just under the impression that LUKS is more secure.
Realistically, what can one achieve by knowing the IPs of every 4chan poster?

Am I the only one who can't fucking stand the "click until there are none left"-captchas? Normally I just refresh the captcha once and it gives me a normal captcha, but just now the fucking system gave me 4 of these trash captchas IN A ROW before it finally gave me a regular one.
GO FUCK YOURSELF! I FUCKING HATE THESE "CLICK UNTIL THEY ALL VANISH" CAPTCHA! I'm so fucking mad that it feels like these are becoming the default captcha.
YO, I just did the captcha for this post and the first one was that gay style of captcha AGAIN! I'm so mad.

Symantec Antivirus unpacks malware in the kernel and trusts that the malware's PE file is well-formed. Doesn't that make you feel safer?

Google has designed a new set of emojis depicting professional women to highlight "the diversity of women's careers" and combat sexism.
The 13 proposed emojis -- unveiled on Tuesday -- show women in a range of jobs, including health care, science, education, farming and construction. A further 13 corresponding emojis will show men in the same roles.
Google's goal is to have these emojis in regular use on smartphones and computers by the end of the year to "empower girls everywhere," according to its proposal.
As it stands now,...

adding emojis because muh SJWs
100% of them are caucasian
dis gun be gud
Expect them to take 10 years to reach 50% of Android devices, nothing to worry about in the short term
if your entire cause is fucked because of a few emojis, then you were basically done before this news anyway.

Hello /g/uys
I've built a Micro ATX PC with an i5 6600k CPU. The only thing I'm missing is a video card. I have no idea what card I should buy. I've got a $300 budget for a video card. What do you guys think would be my best option?
Wait for the 1070 or get a used 970 for like $200
>>54588700
GTX 1100TI

What if he didn't go open source?
What if he had founded his own company and created his own O.S. from the kernel he made at 21yo?
Would he be as rich as Bill Gates?
Would Microsoft have had real competition in the late 90s and early 2000s if Linux was closed-source maintained by accountable professionals?
>>54588250
Most of the software the Linux kernel utilizes was not written by Torvalds, so he would be nowhere without the open source community.
