So are all your hard drives encrypted, including full disk encryption for your OS?
>>55572167
not everything, there are some things like movies and music which i don't bother encrypting
>>55572167
There is nothing of value on this HDD worth encrypting.
>>55572167
Nope. Encryption is a placebo.

Can anon recommend me a good book, hopefully in pdf format, about blockchain? I'm an absolute ignorant in regard to that topic and would love to know what's the deal with that. Thanks!

p.d.: I'm a law student, so please bear it in mind when making a recommendation.
>>55572003
Sure senpai, look into pic related. Ignore the childish cover/name. I did a whole research project on block chains, and this is a great start.

Thank you, dear anon.

What's the difference between bootcamps and degrees? Both suck enough that you have to self-learn most of it anyway.
This is why you get a math degree

Coding bootcamps are where the Starbucks-drinkers go to take selfies. Degrees produce a few good programmers. Only a few, but better than nothing.

Downgrade to the .apk backup you made. You did make backups, didn't you? Oh, I guess you just suck then. Well, grab an old version off apkmirror I guess.

No, not talking about thorium reactors, not opening that discussion here.
I'm talking about the fact that our treatment of thorium in mining prevents us from using our own rare metals.

China will always be able to outdo non-chinese producers in technology, no matter how hard we try.
Do you think we need to radically rethink our old nuclear weapons guidelines and contracts?
>>55571813
>Muh globalism muh free trade is the only way
>Thinking we can trust the Chinese government to participate honestly in a free market like private individuals
Western rare earth mining private companies in North/South Amercia and Australia have all gone bankrupt against Chinese state owned companies stockpiling then dumping resources
Tariffs and trade sanctions against China and other non-free countries are the only way.

>Next thing you'll be telling me is that we can expect the Chinese to respect our "intellectual property"
I think you got it wrong, but glad to see your opinion on that stated.
The reason why China outdoes the west is because they don't adhere to the "thorium is nuclear weapons grade material" rule which forces western mines to dump millions of tons of rare earth ores away because they contain thorium.
China is the only country doing rare earth...

The only way I see this being solved is if Trump becomes president and someone brings it to his attention.
Do it before GE and it could be on his campaign even, raising awareness.
NVIDIA BTFO
#AMDefecatedOnNvidia
Is it over for Nvidia? They've been having a good run the past 5 years but their lack of proper async may do some real damage.
You do realize that the next generation of Nvidia cards are going to improve their performance that will be comparable to AMD.
>>55571836
In 2018 yeah, like 2 years from now, that gives AMD plenty of time. Look at the graph, a $250 card is getting 75% performance of a $650 card. They should put that Price/Performance ratio on one of those retarded Nvidia graphs.
Its absolutely ridiculous.

I don't have a problem with using Edge as long as it actually feels like a complete browser and has support for extensions and filter lists.
I want to buy an S6, encrypt it before any personal use, use it for a couple of months, then sell it.
This in order to avoid data recovery after factory reset, which I read is possible.
I have two simple questions:
1- Will you still be able to use the fingerprint reader after turning on full device encryption? (I've already found that it is possible, I just need a confirmation)
2- Before selling the phone I'll move my pictures and videos to an external drive, after that I want to disable encryption and make sure the S6 is clean. How? A factory reset,...

fucking worthless /g/ too busy frapping to new leaked tech pics
1. You can use fingerprint sensor if your device is encrypted. Encryption has nothing to do with fingerprint reader.
2. Don't disable encryption, just move your files to external drive and make factory reset. New user will not be able to read any of your data such as accounts, passwords, naked pics etc.
What's the point of iris scanner?
>>55571772
How is an iris scanner in any way better than a fingerprint scanner?

Because it makes you feel like you're the main character in a cool sci-fi movie even more.
>>55571862
You can't dust for iris prints.
