What's the deal with Founder's Edition?
What is the difference (if any) between say an EVGA Founder's Edition and a Gigabyte Founder's Edition?
There's no difference, just the same differences between board partners, different capacitors etc
>>54875931
>different capacitors
So which one is best?
>etc
Like what?
All the good goy editions are the same
What do I do with this thing?
It's a late 2005 power Mac g5 by the looks of it. I can't turn it on because I don't have the special snowflake power cord, where can I get a power cord? I want to use this for something. Maybe as some sort of server
>G5 as a server
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>54875893
Power Macs are pretty useless. You need a PPC OS, so software made for newer versions of OSX won't work.
My advice: Use it for a heater. Or gut it and turn it into an aquarium.
>>54875893
there's conversion kits to fit a proper modern motherboard. make a hackintosh I reckon.
The newest version of XFCE is 4.12 but the current Debian Stable image only comes with 4.10.
What's the best way upgrading XFCE without moving to the unstable release?
>>54875747
By installing a better distro: ubuntu
>>54875747
If you were in arch, you could do it with a single command :^)

Are we living in a virtual reality?

Is there a soul? Is the world round?
Eventually we'll have to give up some myths. Although chances (a very good chance) are, we might be living in a simulation, we can't know for sure.
i doubt it because most of us are boring as shit desu

Explain to me how on earth a gaming PC could be affordable like a PS4 when the graphics card costs more. This is assuming you've never had a gaming PC before so you need to buy all the other shit. Why do people say it is more affordable?
>ps4 graphics are equivalent to GTX 980 cards
Because you can build a PC that'll beat a console fore cheaper.
>>54874374
>searching for high performance enthusiast cards instead of budget gaming cards
Okay /g/ I'm getting a Gtx 980 for just 150 bucks, should I wait for the new 480? That would be stupid right? Considering that the 480 would cost me 100 bucks more for same/less power?
>>54873985
Only pick up the 480 if you plan on getting a second one soon.
>Because everyone is running their shit at 4k, right?
>>54873985
>Considering that the 480 would cost me 100 bucks more for same/less power?
A 480 with 4GB would cost only 50 bucks more. And it offers more power than a 980.
Also consider that the 980 will be cucked in future releases.

People with VR sets already (or have tried them) :
How comfortable / impressive are the VR headsets for casual usage like watching a movie in bed just wearing the headset with a static image instead o being able to look around?
Also feel free to share other cool possible uses of VR headsets.
an example of a desktop use for it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjE6qXd6Itw
I've used the Gear VR for watching Movies. The problem With it is that not only is the screen pixelated, if the "screen" you're looking at is too big, everything becomes blurry if it's not in center of the lenses. Not to mention the thing gets really hot after 15 minutes and you'll start sweating.
I mostly use it for Streetview and 360 photos.
>>54870105
Well yeah that is to be expected with Gear VR as its just a phone screen through a lens.
I imagine it must be much better with HTC vive or the Rift. At least so I hope!
