How hard are phone interviews for development jobs? I've been out of school for 3 years.
>>54918228
Were you at least working for those 3 years, or just mooching off your parents?
>>54918252
I was working but it was really half-assed, small business freelance stuff. Websites, servers, misc business/back end stuff. Nothing really 'hard'
>Windows on main computer
>Android on Tablet

Can I even get more cancerous /g/?

You're a perfect consumer. You make Uncle Sam proud :)
Let's play bingo /g/! first one to get 5 in a row wins!
>>54918144
Boy, I really need that single bed tho.
Guess I'm not /g/ enough
Wasn't even close.
Hey /g/. Question for you. I have 980, but I'm giving it to a friend in a week for his birthday. I have a $700 budget, what new GPU should I get? Saw a Titan Z on craigslist near me for $700. Considering that. Talk me off the ledge? pic somewhat related.
>>54918071
Yeah do it, its a great option.
I would recommend waiting for the non-founders edition 1080s, or see if you can get 2-980 Tis once the 1070 drops.
Titan Z is pretty much either on par or greatly below the 1080 on a lot of games.
>>54918139
I figured the titan z would be slower. it was mostly just for the e peen factor. Two RX 480s also looks pretty sweet.
Hey /g/
You usually get this on a daily basis but I have an issue
>have an instgram account
>used it once about two years ago
>just remembered I have an account
>don't remember password
>click on "reset password"
>password sent email
>"email" I used was never created
>tried to create it but google...

>assuming that /g/ knows more about you being any successful at convincing Instagram support to change the account details
>also, "made the account 2 years ago" and suddenly wanting access to the account
Doesn't cut your terrible attempt at gaining access to someone else's login info
Run a script through facebook. It's better if you're using a linux kernel such as ubuntu. Better yet take the time to learn how to install gentoo. It gives you more user control by accessing root commands.
I just dropped and fractured my S7 screen the day after getting it
Why the fuck does it cost 200+ to replace a piece of glass? Am I screwed?
>Why the fuck does it cost 200+ to replace a piece of glass?
Because they know everyone breaks it immediately.
>Am I screwed?
If your screen is still usable, and you don't mind using it, then no.
You fell for the luxury phone meme.
this should be covered by the guarantee(?), no?

An executive... RUNNING LINUX?!
what's with people and muh voltage when it comes to video cards that are going to be in desktops, NON PORTABLE computers???
it's been pulled out of the deck in every amd vs nvidia discussion and it's so asinine.
>>54917802
More electricity going through as card the hotter it will be the hotter it is the less overclock room you will have and thats always a bad thing.
>>54917812
stop doing this
I need to know before i consider throwing it out the window
Also, I brought it one year ago.

Same oh well.

Memewell is still good, no need to give Intel more shekels. The only thing you're missing out on is DDR4, not a huge deal.
haswell is best well
i like mine.
I keep seeing people claim that x technology is a bot net. What is meant by this? I assume it's just a slur directed against a technology they don't like. Fill me in /g/.
Botnet is a service that uses data gathered from your usage (could be sites visited, what you type, music listened to, etc) to target ads towards you.
Some examples are Google and Microsoft. Both of which directly target ads towards you in order to get you to do something, whether it be in browser or out.
Although there exists a botnet in these, it can be removed and completely cancelled with a few minutes.
It's a legitimate term but on /g/ it's used when you are out of legit facts and have run out of anything to use as backup. It's annoying...

>Botnet is a service that uses data gathered from your usage
Nope. It's a collection of remotely controlled computers, assembled by nefarious means, that can be used for whatever purpose is desired. A group of zombie pcs.
Think DDOS bit coin etc

Cross-posting from /mu/:
I love making music, but I typically make shitty electronic music.
What kind of technology does /g/ use to make their music if you don't play a conventional instrument?
I mean, don't get me wrong, I greatly respect the talent of "real" musicians, but I have such a blast piddling with drum machines and synths and shit.
So what kind of /mu/-related technology do you guys recommend?
I've had my eye on pic related for a little while but, since I mostly make hip hop and rap, I worry that it is mostly...

If I remember correctly, it has various kits right? In the pic you selected the "Hip Hop" kit is selected. If you want hardware you could get an used Dr. Rhythm for a drum machine. Pretty nice machines
>>54917607
They are fun gimmicks but for their price totally not worth it.
>>54917733
Nice dub-dubs.
But yeah, that's what I was worried about.
Honestly, I'd love to have something portable like it so that I have something to fuck around with on long trips.
Know of any portable drum machines or beat-making machines that are nice?
That's technology!

Now we just need a machine that can automatically cook for us, and one that will suck our dicks, and our ultimate goal of replacing women will be complete.

Bump :(
I'm using a vanilla W7 install. Not planning on doing any updates with it. Other than CommonSense 2010, and Malwarebytes once and awhile, anything else I should do? I'm on a dorm wifi network, as well.
