Whats your excuse for not upgrading to Windows 10 yet? (besides muh nsa, in which case you should not run any windows)
I don't use any Windows. Why do you?
>>54982484
It works with all my proprietary hardware and software.

If you want maki to be cancerous, you're doing a great job at it.
Busy installing the latest insider preview build of Windows 10
See you fa/g/g/ots on the other side
>>54982391
I heard it has integrated maps which automatically mark designated shitting streets in your area
Latest features:
LastPass extension for Microsoft Edge
Hyper-V Container: You can now use Docker natively on Windows 10 with Hyper-V Containers, to build, ship and run containers
New icons
etc.
also Dona Sarkar pic related is now the head of the Insider Program

Defend this nvidrones.
Pascal is literally maxwell on 16 nm, no dx12 improvements. Wait another 3 months for the 490 cause trust me, the 1080 will fail miserably against it.

goy, how is Warhammer relevant for testing GPU's?? its more a cpu intensive game, why dont you post some doom benchmarks

Retard detected.
Next semester I'm taking a java class that has a reputation for being notoriously difficult despite not having any formal pre-reqs. A lot of people do badly in this course and I can't do bad because I have to do well in this course to get into graduate studies (shit undergrad GPA in unrelated field and taking courses to prove myself). Plus I'm working 40-hours so this summer is the most free I'll be to learn ahead.
I don't know any Java and want to spend the entire summer learning from the ground up. What are good online courses to take? Money...

I'm thinking of taking this course:
https://www.udemy.com/introduction-to-java-programming/
How does the content look to everyone?
>>54982208
pick up any intro book in java or c. Look read and actually work through it and google EVERYTHING you do not know, and beat yourself until you know it perfectly. Try to build a foundation for future concepts. A lot of people do badly because they rely on memorization and never internalize it and understand information well enough to form this foundation.
>>54983641
This. Just get any respected book and just do all the exercises, reading the chapters as necessary.
>takes forever to start

Damn it Pajeet you told me windows 10 was the best yet. Even 8 worked better than this steaming...

What does /g/ think of InstallShield?
>inb4 winshill
It does what is supposed to do.
>>54981870
it works, nothing to complain about.
It's eh. It gets the job done, but the Limited Edition is extremely restricted, and $1k+ is more than I'd want to pay just for one or two of the features for the next version up that I need (I've had to do custom action workarounds to take care of stuff I'm restricted from using). If I had a choice I'd use Wix, but there's too steep of a learning curve and I need to get things done quickly

to find where the problem can lie, do a trace route to say, googles, 8.8.8.8. at each hop of the trace route run 100 pings see where you lose 2.
looks like you are on some kind of wireless provider? am i right?
Pinged the first 4 so far. no packet lost as of yet but every 5 or so the time spikes to an upwards of 800 ms
Where's the guy that was going to give me his HD 6950?

How has systemd personally affected you?

Easier to have all the distributions use the same commands to start/stop services.
I can write simple init "scripts" now myself.
It offers small utilities that I can use instead of full and complicated alternatives (like time syncing; don't have to use ntpd).
I compiled and installed systemd manually and spent 2 hours troubleshooting why my headless server would no longer let me keep my screen sessions open after logging out, defeating the whole purpose of GNU screen.
Apparently, the default behavior is to kill all user processes and daemons upon logout unless you add a compiler flag when building.
How the fuck was I supposed to know that?
So I got myself all excited for the A4-SFX then it turned out to cost nearly £200 which is too much, especially considering I'd also have to replace my current ATX power supply.
Are there any other good ITX cases with a similar form factor (tower, fits a GPU) that are cheaper? I like the look of the Hadron Air but I've read some poor reviews for it and I'm having second thoughts.
I got one for like 60€
gg
bitfenix phenom goes for $85-$100. It's what I've been eyeing for my build lately.

I'm using a prodigy at the moment and I'm not very happy with it. Space efficiency is far from on-point.
Reaper is being ported to Linux right now
how does it feel wincucks?
>>54981100
What even is a reaper? If pic is related it looks like only faggot DJ wannabes would use.

first things first, nice dubs
I've used fl too long to care

You could say it's a start.
Too bad that start came about a decade too fucking late.
Setting up a Linux machine with the most basic setup like audio-interface, a midi device like a keyboard, getting the drivers to work for in and output with LOW latency AND having a working digital audio workstation has either always been a massive pain in the ass and/or only partially working or not working at all.
It's like the Linux community always cared more about compiling code instead of being creative with music and graphics.
I'm just massively disappointed.
I just became a web dev after working on the system admin side of things forever.
Did I fuck up /g/?
If you prefer the work and earn more money, then you did good. If not either of these, why did you do it?
earn more money as web dev? i earn like 2000 $ a month, webdev/sysdev here.
and yes, yes you gon fucked up, im so tired of the web i could puke, welcome to css/html & jquery hell, you wont write a single snippet of code you're proud of for years.
