I have an old Windows XP desktop that has a number of issues.
Should I recycle it at a local center or give it for free on Craigslist? I read that some of the places will sell good parts (which my desktop has), and I don't want that.
What do you guys do with old tech?
>>55633278
Toss it in the electronics recycling bin in my condo's basement.
>>55633278
I'd probably try to fix said issues and clean it up. I love old, obsolete tech.
>>55633321
The power switch is out of wack, and the graphics card doesn't do anything. It's an AGP card, so going through the trouble of finding a working replacement is too much of a hassle.
Since people like you love old, obsolete tech, it seems like I should give it away for free on CL instead of letting a company shred it for scrap. (I have taken the HDD out already.)
What is the best, reasonably priced

Is the Asus vp239 H-p good? Thinking about getting it for gaming and movies 23"
>>55633543
yes
is there a better way to achieve what im trying to here?
i cant afford multiple monitors. im on a 50 inch tv.
please dont spam memes.
Im trying to find a way to better format all this. Somehow configure these browser windows to better display this anime and 4chan.
>>55633186
Gett GreaseMonkey,
from there you can add permanent script to your browser windows
Then Just resize css from a script
width: 800px;
height:400px;
you can do this with everything a web page could, have like a video, Inspect webpage to fin the video tags, and add to your script the format you want to put onto it
>>55633186
>streaming dubbed anime
Holy shit just kill your self.
After you kill yourself, use Firefox, get Tile Tabs extension, get some decent minimal browser CSS.
>>55633186
>anime
>4chan
>some rpg
>twitch
you are such a fucking loser holy shit
So tomorrow we will see how GTX 1060 performs.

Sapphire 480 Nitro+ is going to piss in the most superclocked 1060

>apps are the stepping stone to the computationally/algorithmically controlled "Age of Abundance"
>Mortgage process
Used to require stacks of paper, in-person meetings, income and background checks, constant back and forth
Now apps like rocket mortgage have turned it into a click-click-click process on your smartphone
Eventually you will just be able to provide your financial data and credit history as a permission and the app will do the rest for you
Credit worthiness will be calculated...

Futurism is a meme. Tech innovation is pretty much at its limit.

>tech innovation is pretty much at its limit
What did he mean by this?
>>55633121
ignore him. Singularity fags and limit fags are two sides of the same cancer spreading coin.
Why are people on /g/ so retarded? Saying stuff like "you need an individual cable for each 8 pin in a GPU" even though cables that come with non shit PSUs are 1000w rated each
>>55633002
Are you talking about why using a splitter is frowned upon? It has nothing to do with the cables and everything to do with the amperage the PSU can supply to that particular series of cables.
Either way, I've never seen anyone say what you're claiming they say on /g/. The days of monster GPUs are numbered and most power supplies that are discussed/recommended here are almost overkill for the typical /g/ user GPU.
>>55633080
OP isn't talking about splitters. He's talking about cables that have two 8 pins on them
>>55633002
I run a gtx 590 on a single cable with a shitty 700W power supply. I guarantee that thing sucks more power than whatever the fuck you're doing and it's fine.
anyone on /g/ using a mac
It's a completely legit UNIX system.
Why do /g/tards hate it so much?
>>55632878
Overpriced hipster shit
>>55632878
>Proprietary
>Cost too much
>Most users are fags/dykes and SJWs
If apple cared more about showing off the tech side of it rather than the shiny shit for normalfags to eat up, mac wouldn't be as hated here as they are.
Why are CAMs still taken with 90s webcams? In 2016.
I get that you have to be somewhat discrete but still.
whats a CAM?

Are SS mice really much worse than Zowie, or Logitech for example?
>>55632793
yes
I switched from a SteelSeries Sensei to a Zowie FK1. Difference in pointer precision is quite noticeable, I was actually surprised.
Build quality wise its quite the same. I would actually say that the Sensei has better overall build quality than the FK1. And Steelseries gives you a very potent driver software where you can change pretty much anything.
Still, Zowie > all
That being said, the laser of the Zowie is just q
>>55633729
Hows the Zowie AM, its the only one that doesn´t cost a shitload cash around here.
Which phone should I get?
Is there a good reason why I should pay three times as much for a S7 compared to a S5 neo?
Basically I want to play Pokémon GO :)

Whatever you get just never get an iPhone. The buyer's remorse I suffered when I had an iPhone 6s was overwhelmingly big.
>>55632806
It is not THAT bad. I did not find that the iPhone was significantly worse that an equivalent Android.
>>55632806
My current phone is an iPhone 4.
It sucks that it can't install the latest iOS version.
Could there be a similar issue with the S5 neo, as it's an older phone?
Does anyone know any cheap alternatives to adobe Photoshop or any abobe products like premier
>>55632614
Ye - Adobe Photoshop purchased on KAT, TPB or a private tracker. They offer a -100% sale.
gimp is a good photoshop replacement. idk about premiere.

I was wondering if it would be possible (hypothetically) to fit a PC into a DSLR camera body, including a long range zoom lens. If it is possible, what would the parts list be? How much would it cost? Plus post weird computer builds.

so i'd like to be able to track my hikes and bike tours. sometimes i can go for a few weeks on a tour and i'd like to have a sub-website that i can share privately to friends and families so they can see where i am and track my progress. for the software and web, this is no problem.. but i'm stuck on the hardware.
i have an old android phone that i can use as a gps receiver. and i have an arduino. i'm also okay to buy different hardware to accomplish this.. i just don't know where to start. how can will i broadcast my gps signal, or upload my...

Just use Strava. You can change the privacy settings to your liking. You didn't have to ask if you were capable of taking on such a project. And your plan sounds ridiculous desu.
>>55631880
You don't even need anything, Google is passively tracking all your phone location for their business, they're kind enough to let you have a look at their botnet with Location History
>>55632137
Would just like to add that your battery will probably on work for a few hours if you're using the GPS constantly.
So you might want to bring a lightweight laptop to set to hibernation mode and charge your phone with.
And you need a phone that supports GLONASS which is far superior to just using GPS.
GPS and other data can be saved and uploaded at a later moment so you don't need mobile data per se.
