Where did everything go so wrong?
Does /g/ have any experience with Sager laptops? I'm looking for something around $1000 that's got the best hardware for the price, and I was surprised at the specs on the cheaper Sager models. Is there some sort of catch/tradeoff, or am I better suited buying a different laptop?
I'm in the market for a new laptop. $1200 max. New. $1201 or buying an used laptop is not allowed, really. My laboratory buys the laptop, and thats the amount of money for it.
I'm about to pull the trigger on this case and a new cooler
Give me reasons not to
>have shitty mATX with no room for decent cooler and my stock intel cooler is sounding like a chopper
>want silent pc for music production and gaymen
I have a question: Anyone know why blink or beep doesn't work anymore in the modern versions of shell (Bash, in the actual distros)?
Thank you in advance.
Thank you by your answer about the beep problem. I will investigate.
And, by the way, do you know about the blink problem too? Like:echo -e "\033[5mBlinking text\033[0m"
doesn't work anymore in Bash.
What went wrong?
>he does'nt refresh his thermal pastes monthly
a refresh is done by simply spraying surgical spirit onto the cpu while under load
What do you think about this fucking piece of trash?
Will it be PYRA 2.0?
Please, tell me i'm not the only one skeptical enough.
So you can see the specs.
All that for JUST THAT LITTLE PRICE?
I just can't stop thinking about a scam bigger than an elephant.
Look what just came in the mail.
>inb4 reference design
Gonna slap a waterblock on it, kick it to 2+ GHz
So my uncle gave me his old busted Desktop. Pic related. Found out everything works fine except the HDD. The specs are outdated though, is there anything I can do to make this machine better or should I just scalp a few parts and junk it?
Here are specs.

I don't see why brain "uploading" wouldn't work:
1. Inject subject's brain with a bunch of nanomachines and raw chunks of semiconductor material (probably something usable on atomic scale)
2. Over time nanomachines would built a copy of a neuron in an electronic form beside it, cut the biological neuron when it isn't used and connect the new electronic variant to wherever it went.
3. After every single neuron is replaced by an electric analog, the brain is now entirely electronic.
The subject wouldn't even know it happened, every...

Hopefully it's that simple. I remember Ray Kurzweil talking about something similar to this.
Most of the time when people discuss brain "uploading," they just refer to making a copy of the original consciousness, upload that, and let the original die, which is something different.
RX 480 Mosfet cooling
How does it work?
If I want to add a custom cooler to the reference RX 480, then the report says I also absolutely need to cool the mosfets on the board. However, it just tells you to get a mosfet cooler from an older card. I don't have one, so I have to get it from somewhere else.
Will ones like these work? Do they need a specific size? If they're too big, they won't fit, right?
Since they're bigger than the mosfets, I have to glue them on somehow like this, right? Sounds retarded
Another pic with the heatsinks removed
sup g, i dont give a shit if i get b& for posting this, im a newfag
i have a random mid tower case and a mATX motherboard, and i wanna upgrade to the msi gtx 950 2gd5
will it fit the shit? i currently have gt 630 and its ok
can you get the dimensions/specs of your GT 630 from Google or whatnot, and then compare it to the dimensions of the msi gtx 950? Can you call a local computer retailer/repair shop and ask them? You should try those options, too, instead of relying solely on /g/ and their admittedly awesome expertise.
Hey \g\ I found a movie about Linux
