Hello /g/, i'm a bit confused about how ethernet works on the Raspberry Pi (B+). I know it relies on the usb hub and so many people say that high internet speeds get the cpu to 100%, but what is the highest speed you can get on a RPi? If my internet is for example 7mbps, do i get 7mbps also on it? Thank you.
100mbps.
>>45405669
You sure? Many people on the internet complained about horrible speed connections, like 1 or 2 mbps
>>45405472
I get 4 MB/s on mine which is limited by my connection. Dunno how much higher my raspi can go.
Hey /g/, whats the worst mistake you made on a computer or any device? We aren't perfect obviously, but there are some really dumb things we did at some point.
I'll start:
>>Be me
>>Install bumblebee and primusrun on Ubuntu for steam
>>accidentally sudo apt remove bumblebee on both
>>fuck up the system so bad i had to get it restored
>>mfw 1 yr of programming work down the drain

My laptop key got popped out and instead of putting it back I threw it out.
I was a dumb kid.

I had my F11 key pop out on accident once, and I left it sitting next to my computer. My dog ended up getting to it and I found it later in his bowl, partially chewed up.
Even today, I dun fuck up.

Forgot to clean the dust out of the front air vents on my PC at a time when I was doing a lot of gaming. by time the computer started having issues, it was already too late. I lost a motherboard, a power supply, and a hard drive to overheating.

Stop spamming this you filthy tea drinker.
Do you turn off your computer when you go to sleep?
I usually put it in sleep mode and once a week it bluescreens when I do so.
>>45407337
of course, why would I want it to run all night?
>>45407337
Yes, my PC is noisy.

Old thread almost on bump limit
I still haven't got that CRT but i changed a few things, feeling a bit cleaner now.
You now look like you're sixteen instead of twelve, good job.
What's the cheeki breeki book for?
>>45404310
It's an anthology of the russian short novels.
I thinking of getting more things removed and painting the wall but i'm not in the mood for having the room smelling like paint for a few days. Maybe some darker colors.
How do i make it to look like i am 19 now? I planned on putting my turntable over the desk but it's too large and i'd need to walk more to get the vinyls.
Playing Freedom wars right now.
It's not too bad.
How cluttered is your hard drive, /g/?
Do you save tons of shit?
Unfortunately my 4chan misuse causes me to have tons of shitty pictures to use for thread starts. It's gone out of control and I dread the day I decide to clean through it all.
Very.
I'm clearing out the 16k+ images I have saved since ~2003.
>>45403428
the best thing is when your hard drive crashes and you have no backup. so liberating.
>>45403458
>tfw you have five different places of back up which all features some of the same files, so you can't just delete old ones because some of that is non existent on the new ones
Old thread was approaching its life expectancy.
Using Open Broadcaster Software, is it at all possible to stream directly to an IP address instead of a service? Like, another computer? I want to watch someone else on the network play games without using something like twitch, because the latency is much higher and a waste of bandwidth as far as I'm concerned. Is it possible?
set up nginx with the rtmp module, then you can stream to it and others can watch from it.rtmp {
server {
listen 1935;
chunk_size 4096;
application live {
live on;
record off;
}
}
}

i'm using wangblows, does that change anything?
if not, I'll look into it.
Thanks.
I have 8gb of RAM, is it worth the hassle of upgrading it? I'm on a laptop and don't see another way if getting more fps
Give me one good reason why I should seed my torrents.

we in this dis together anon
If you aren't going to seed, then use XDCC or DDL when possible, because torrenting relies on seeders to work.

So /g/, I have been using this mouse for the past 5 years. I'm in dire need of a replacement, it's double clicking on accident, missing clicks,.. getting reckt.
Recommendations on high DPI, simple and feel-good-in-hand mouse?

Got this bought for me. I really like it. Feels nice in the hand, nice tactile feel. Can change dpi as required, just nice all round feel.
But no doubt some faggots on this board will tear it to shreds.

Poorfag here, rate my first pc build:

Keep in mind that the budget is really low. So any advice?
drop the cd drive.
Look for cheaper RAM, also I don't know how much your graphics card needs, but your PSU looks too big.
Drop the CD drive, pirate stuff. Don't buy windows, pirate it or use Linux.
Drop the cd rom, drop windows 8.1 and get yourself a 7 iso from digitalriver, drop AMD completely and get a 750 ti and an i3. Downgrade to 4GB of ram. Get a WD blue instead. Black is overpriced for not much gain. Get a seasonic or corsair PSU.
If you buy amd you will regret it. I know I do.
chromium users, I'm debating making the switch and leaving FF behind. three questions though:
>uBlock vs ABP vs Adguard: which one is better?
>is there any way to set a new tab page other than by using a shitty ad-on?
>can the horrible font-rendering be fixed?

That's pretty standard for higher up executives. They have a lot of meetings, so they can't have a computer on their main desk
