Yeah, plenty of them.

This, always look for the torrents with the most seeders. Those are the legit ones.
Just installed Botnet 10 on my GFs computer as per her wishes. I don't know much about Windows. Which free antivirus should I put on it? Avira, ESET NOD32, something else? Thanks.

So I started collecting laserdiscs about a year ago, and since then have amassed a collection of over 200 discs. I feel good about the investment (only paid an average of $1 per disc) but my only worry about the future of keeping the alive is the simple fact that the players are all going to become extinct (they are already basically endangered thanks to ebay).
So /g/, tell me if this idea is out of the bounds of reason for something that could actually sell and/or revive physical media.
Bring back the laserdisc format. I think one of the biggest reasons people aren't investing in physical media over over digital these days is because the packaging for dvds and blu-rays don't seem worth the investment over the convenience of downloading a digital copy. Another problem with blu-ray is that people are beginning to realize that it is not the definitive format to last into the distant future like people thought when it first came out. So why doesn't the industry make one last ditch effort to sell a definitive physical media that will last at least two to three decades into the future?
I honestly think that physical aspect of the laserdiscs could make this possible. Think about it, you have 12" of surface space, two sides to double the maximum capacity, a durable and well made disc resistant to dirt and scratches. You've got packaging that is even better than vinyl (you might scoff at this, but i guarantee people would buy them on this fact alone). It could be very easily marketable, and make the new players not only play the old laserdisc formats CLV and CAV (upscaled) but also a new "HDV" format:
*4k-8k resolution
*200-400GB per side
*lossless audio w/ LPCM, dolby true hd and dts-hd
*limitless number of digital audio tracks
Does anyone think this idea makes any sense? Would you feel better investing your money in something that is bigger, better and will last longer physically and in the media market?
The only thing worth watching on laserdisc is old subbed anime releases from the late 80s.
You ARE watching classic subbed anime, right?

Could be a competitor for Blu-ray Ultra HD but what wouldn't, it's dead in the water already.
Whether or not it's do-able with a cost-effective advantage over simply making another small disc format is another story.
Nobody really cares about dinosaur physical formats except for collectors.
If you can get imperceivably similar quality from a digital download, then why wouldn't you?
Anyways, your idea will never happen, because nowadays every physical media format requires some form of DRM, from Audio CDs to Blurays.
You also have a bunch of dinosaur codecs implemented into the standard. Sure, weebs will use it, but they're immediately going to change it out for FLAC or whatever the hell is in vogue.
Hello,
First off not sure if this should go here. But currently how do we build CPUs and "program" them. Also if some nuclear war was to happen (think fallout 4) how would we rebuild computers? My understanding is basically every part of modern day computers is built essentially by another computer because the tolerances are so small.
So if technology took a poop worldwide how would be get back to where we were?

What the fuck is up with these domains ending in .io?
Why do normies say the name like the .io is included? (Agario, itchio)
Why do they put the .io in the logos?
I see more logos with .io in than .com or .co.uk so what's the difference?
it's a meme. seriously, that's all it is.
>>51406160
They couldn't get a decent respectable domain so they feel forced to use the io in the name since nobody would look at them twice otherwise.
Like you wouldn't visit a .tk site for example.

Although Java does suck ass when it comes to look, feel, and usability for the end user. But .NET's UI frameworks aren't cross platform, and I have no reason to believe they won't be shit if they ever make it.
Or rather, like early 2000's pic related. I want to do it as a personal project.

Have you tried a new CMOS battery
>>51405289
also checked the voltage of the 3V CMOS and it is outputting 3.14V so it works fine.
>>51405305
yes I checked the voltage of the 3v CMOS and it is outputting 3.14V.
Additionally which is super frustrating is the computer boots and shuts down fine unless its off for a long period of time. like 8 hours long.
