The Feminist Software Foundation wants to apply a lot of patches to the linux kernel.
>### How to contribute
>Absolutely no coding experience is necessary: all code are equal in the eyes of the Feminist Software Foundation. There is no objective way to determine whether one person’s code is better than another’s.

Who are they to say it's not code?
Hey all employed software engineers, I'm curious about your work life.
I started working at cloud monitoring based startup a few years ago. I've had some fun with it, but I'm starting to question our ways and wondering if what I'm going through is normal or if I should be worried.
Our methodology seems to be "A customer wanted thing X before we close this deal. Do what ever you need to get something our there and we'll fine tune it per customer feedback later"
This seems good in theory but it almost always leads to a...

hola?
>>51416951
>Is this normal
yes
>or is this startup fucked?
yes
there some places that arent fucked in the head but mostly people do software very very badly.
start looking for one thats not like this.
how do you do that? at the interview ask them about how they do software. in detail. eg, what is there software process? how does the work get parcelled out? how is quality asserted etcetcetc
>>51417009
Hmm I think I'll do that when my agreement is up this fall. I really hate pushing out untested shitty code because I have no time to unit test anything :(
And just like that the play store is ruined.
>no actual categories
>no list of installed apps
>no manual app updating
>no app history

the fuck are you talking about you mongoloid?
>>51416850
lol op u so funny xDDD
>>51416869
Looked pretty clear to me, OP posted about an update to the Google play store and listed some of his criticisms. Maybe you're the mongoloid.
While I was at work today the roomie stayed home to let the att u verse guy in to install our cable and Internet. He put the main hub in his room and put the secondary receiver in my room and the living room. Is he getting any certain kind of benefit that I'm not getting? Pic is of the receiver in my room
>>51416833
Absolutely, you should put that fucker in the living room right away.
I don't know what U verse is but if he has the internet modem in his room yes he's certainly in the position to give himself priority.
Depends if he's computer savvy and a dick.
When I lived with 2 other dudes I set up QoS for them because despite me setting up a torrent server that was as simple as "Drag the torrent file into this folder and it will start downloading to the NAS" they still thought it would be fun to both run their own torrent clients with no sort of upload limits. Thereby flooding the connection.
Is he a dick?
if he is more savvy than you, let him.
some of my video files in windows 10 dont show thumbnails. is this normal

Only issue is, nobody is willing to mock up a replacement.
What terminal emulator does /g/ use? right now I'm using xterm but I'm just wondering if there is something better.
rxvt-unicode (urxvt)
It's pretty decent.

A state-of-the-art gaming PC pulling about 500W can barely render an image at 4K/60fps, while the series of tubes pushing salty water around inside my skull produces a vastly superior picture and draws only 12W.
Explain that, nerds.
Great thread, OP.
I'm sure this thread will be filled with lots of insightful comments.

I wonder how you guys function in exams.

you're assuming most of them have an education
I like your description of tubes and salty water, though
is my comp run hot?

Mhmm, you should get a better cooler or clean the whole thing and put new thermal paste . But the temps aren't that bad, you should be worried when it gets around 80-85, it will starts to damaga the components a little bit but not that much, I think... Stay aware of the temps either way
>>51416185
I'm pretty sure that is past the thermal shutdown threshold.
Is that an AMD CPU? They're known for having pretty shitty sensors in their CPUs, especially their APUs.

If the captor has a problem, it would be more like -220℃ or something like that
