RAID is a meme made by storage drive manufacturers. If you are using RAID you are being cucked out of your money by the international hardware jew playing on the fear that you will lose your pedo Chinese cartoon collection when your drives have a near 0% chance of failure in ten years.
Nice selection of memes you used OP. You must be proud of yourself.

So my choice of running a RAID 0 was a good choice. Thank you op, now you can go back to >>>/mlp/
I accept our Google overlords.
I would willingly hand over all my data to them for superior free services and infrastructure improvements rather than getting it stolen by Microsoft, Apple, or the government.
It's 2016, its time to side with a botnet.

Meh, kinda agree here, I see them as a lesser evil.
Also, I've been using gmail since beta, so they already have most of my information anyway..

Handing data to Google - or any of the other big platforms - is handing it to the government.
>how to remap capslock to backspace on windows
Step 1: Google
Step 2: Find some currymuncher's tutorialStep 1: Run regedit. On most Windows machines, this can easily be accessed by pressing Win+R (especially in Windows 7 where "Run" is not an immediately available option in the start menu) and typing "regedit" in the box.
Step 2: Double-click on the following folders in order...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
......and then click once on Keyboard...

Hey /g/,
Is ripping off a website's design legal? If I download all the layout files, (HTML, CSS, JS, Images), put my own content management system behind it, and change the logo.
A client asked me to make their website look exactly like a competitors. I used HTTrack changed some names around and obfuscated the code slightly. Am I in a grey area?
Give the copyrights to your client so he'll be held responsible in case a competitor sees the site.
I would assume as long as the source code that generates the webpage is not stolen, all would be good. Just don't make it too obvious?
> If I download all the layout files, (HTML, CSS, JS, Images)
No you stupid nigger. Of course the files all belong to them.
It goes from blatant infringement to somewhat dubious if you created the look-alike site from scratch.
And no you can't pass on responsibility for breaking the law to your client.

Is learning to program (at an employable level) without college even possible? Last year I did Code Academy's Python course, along with most of LPTHW and some checkio exercises, but quickly reached the point of not knowing what to do next and just stopped altogether. There's such a wealth of learning materials; books, courses,...

well yes if you have a great portfolio, all you have to do is prove that you're capable, that's what degrees are for and stuff. start with a good book.
>>52243840
are you talking about codemonkey level ?
yeah, no need for college for that, but python won't get you anywhere.
your best bet would be getting a good book on algorithms and data structures, and learn a language like java or c/c++
>>52243872
Would the books in the wiki be a good place to start even though I'm essentially a complete noob?
is this true?
>>52243575
No, because 2005-2015 were the years of the linux desktop.
>>52243575
Every year is the year for Linux desktop if YOU are using it on your main. Do not seek validation from others, if you like it, use it, fuck everyone else who disagrees.
Does /g/ put a case on their phone?
Are they really even necessary now that most phones are made of gorilla glass and aluminum?
I didn't on my Nexus 5, then I dropped it and it shattered. I now use a Spigen case on my phone. It isn't really that bad, adds very little thickness and looks good.
I have an M9 and I just tear the hell out of it.
Sadly it hasn't broken for my free replacement yet.
I have a little shitty ombre rubber case on my Zenfone 2 because I don't want to scuff it up too badly.
If I could find something like an Otterbox for it, you bet your last dollar I'd buy it.

What is /g/'s take on the Internet of Things?
Frivolous attempts to insert computers into random things that don't need them.
If anything was more obvious as a marketing ploy, it was this.
>>52243232
An even further realization of cyberpunk reality that we're already living in, where everything is listening to us and collecting our data for big companies to squeeze every last bit of profit out of us. I don't think it's just a fad either. The "internet" is going to be keep being shoehorned in to more and more things as time goes on.
