Why does /g/ consider Java a meme language? apart from C++ I think Java is th ebest OOP language out there. What do you guys think?
>>52429248
My frustration is mainly from it's implementation in enterprise situations.
For example, Cisco's web interfaces for their products are all written in Java -but require different fucking versions of the JRE to work properly. And even then, applications within the web gui themselves will require some other different fucking version of the JRE. I'm talking about you, holiday recording scheduler. God dammit.
It's the most frustrating fucking thing.

For your phone to work you need to be trackable. Nothing new.
Noooo they're going to spy on my memes. Gtfo normies.
>>52429052
This is nothing new, I was posting on /g/ about this a little more than half a year ago. Some baseband firmware that has been audited has been found to allow for the automatic execution of code sent over the air without any security measures whatsoever.

This isn't just them being able to track your location, it's them being able to potentially access all...

1. Bloated
2. Inconsistent UI
3. UI designed by 2 year old dog with bad eyesight.

Everyone but me. I came to Linux from Windows, so KDE made me feel at home. Gnome reminds me too much of that gaylord Mac OS X's UI.

Greetings.
Skylake CPU are not the sole option for Excellent-Enthusiast. I held on to Haswell for as long as possible, since it is the better value CPU, but 1150 mobos at that price range are now all out of stock, or the price went up from ~$150-$170 to $300+.
Removed the following GPUs:
-R7 260X
-R9 270X
-R9 280X
They are no longer available in most places.
SSD options for 240GB starting at "Very Good", instead of "Superb" in before.
Questions:
-The Haswell i3 still has mobos available for it. Keep as long as possible,...

Why does this happen? Lower supply due to being discontinued but high demand?
>>52428519
In short, yes.
>>52428519
Skylake has been out for ~5 months now. So I am guessing all the mobos were EOLed and only old stock is left. There may be a mismatch in mobo-manufacturer schedules and Intels, as Haswell CPUs are still available for sale everywhere, and at normal prices.
Alright /g/ you guys are my only hope here.

What is the "most free" Linux distro?
Gentoo is just a meme and isn't even recognized by the FSF or GNU Project.
I can't decide between Trisquel and gNewSense.
Also, the distro has to be active in development.
Sorry senpai, i use my computer to get shit done, not to circlejerk about muh FSF approved crap.
>>52428413
...which is why I run Debian on my main laptop and Windows 10 on my desktop.
But the question remains: What do you think is the most free Linux distro?
I wasn't asking you to use it, nor was I saying that I was going to.
I bought this laptop with Trisquel 7 preinstalled, now I spend more time on a Parabola live USB I might wind up installing to my HDD. It's unfortunately not a 100% libre laptop, but it's from a manufacturer which fully supports the free software movement (Thinkpenguin).
