"In the back-and-forth that is Google versus Oracle, lawyers for both sides are doing their diligence early on, but Oracle’s team may be serving up damage Google can’t recover from."
"To that, Oracle is claiming Google has no right to use Java APIs for Android, which naturally feels more like Oracle wanting a piece of the pie that makes Google so much money (mainly via app sales and as a platform for advertising). Google argues its use of Java APIs for Android falls under fair-use, as Java is open; Google’s lawyer went so far as to call it a ‘gift...

They may switch to swift now that it's open source.
>What is OpenJDK
>>54577265
I agree that google should move away from java on android
but I don't quite understand the copyrighted API's issue
Is this trial setting a precedent that if I were to write a large piece of code
in java and then I got popular I would have to feed oracle money to continue
selling it on the java platform?
What is the real issue here with Oracle v. Google (Other then oracle wants some android money)?

Applecare senior adviser here, just got home from a hard day of getting fucked by cunts who want free phones because they smashed their screens.
AMA and I'll answer what I can.
Also it's probably worth noting that I had no idea it was Apple when I applied as soon as you sign the 'tech support' contract and NDA they let you know.

What the fuck?
My question: Are you a genius?
Are you saying you didn't know you applied to work at Apple?
>>54576694
No I am a Product Specialist, mostly a genius but far more training and flexibility
>>54576699
and yep, literally no idea, they hide it very well. Apple outsource their tech support but you know...they pay my wage and my email is @apple.com etc etc.
So a client of mine has me developing a lead generation app, and I developed an API to allow a subsidiary to send us edit information for records we've given them. Now, it works fine in tests, however when we get 1-2~ edits a second, after about thirty successes the server starts dropping the requests and we receive no response at all. I just finished talking to the client's hosting service, and they told me the following:
>It is not their responsibility to ensure anything is being served
>It must be the...

Sounds like a problem with your code if it can't handle 2 edits a second.
>>54576708
Would it be? I figured I'd get some sort of response if it was a code related problem, but nothing, the server just stops responding.

there's a large range of widths between flexible paper and about 1/2" (laptops)-1/4" (phones) that you don't need to give a shit about, because they are not significantly more portable than the thicker and significantly less portable than the absolute thinnest. you're just screwing yourself over with a soldered and glued shitbox that dies with its cheap chinese battery.

how good is 144hz /g/? torn between spending 500 dollarydoos on a 1440p IPS 60hz display and spending $900 on the same specs but with 144hz and gsync.
I have the means to afford the $900 one but my thinking is that even with a 6600k and 1080 at 1440p I probably wont even go over 80fps on most non-fps titles. But when I do play fps titles would I be missing out? How good is 144hz irl?
>>54576177
Wait for 240hz anon. Much worth.
>>54576177
Get the 60Hz one and overclock it

The first thing I noticed when I used my 144hz screen for the first time in CSGO was the smoothness of the animations.
Panning the camera quickly felt glorious and the recoil of the guns felt more natural (what stroke me the most was that I could actually see the gun moving backwards instead of a direct jump during recoil). However 144hz is more like a luxury and wont give you any substantial increase in your skill (It will give you more room for improvement in movement though). If you are unsure your rig is capable...
