Hey /g/ what's the best image viewer for quickly viewing large JPEG files on Linux?
I have a lot of >10MB DSLR photos I would like to skim through but I'm currently using pic related and each image takes about half a second to load whenever I navigate to the next one.
Are there any good image viewers that can cache the next images in RAM for faster loading? I've search around but I can't find any that specifically say they do this.
I don't think many image viewers do this specific thing.
For my general purpose image viewing I use mpv, which is at least pretty close to optimal in terms of time taken to decode, but it doesn't cache images in advance (yet).
Oh my god
WHY ARE ALGORITHMS SO FUCKING HARD
ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS PROGRAM VIDEO GAMES
What do you listen to while coding?

Let's say you wrote your engine in GL and got some good followers etc on github. You have the opportunity to now re-write your code with GL command lists / vulkan but you'll have to drastically re-write a lot of rendering code. You make no money from this, and because of strenuos 40hrs of work in the week, can really on work a few hours per day if that and on the weekends.
Do you commit to upgrading your rendering code to vulkan for the next 6 months or do you just say "gud enuff" ?

>ugh, fucking disgusting, why don't you go out and get laid you neckbeard

Linux as a server
>yo YO, that shit is TIGHT bro
>never had an issue
>how can windows compete
Why is this?
Because the main developers and users of Linux aren't interested in games and pretty ooo eye just efficiency and stability.
U want games and pretty gooey u gonna have 2 deal with massive autism or learn to program and design yourself.
You silly snake you
Like linux users aren't fully aware of what a clunky, dumbed down piece of botnet shit windows 10 is.
Your position is indefensible and you're lies ridiculous, Pajeet. You must be trolling because your game's too weak to be shilling.
What happened to the internet, and all its promise?
15 years ago the web was an thriving diverse hub of creativity. People hosted their own websites, and set up forums, and learned HTML, CSS and JS not because it was pushed by the media, or because they thought it would help them get a job, but because they were genuinely interested in it.
These days? 90% of the web is clickbait and walled garden social media. We don't email; we use Facebook messenger. We don't create; we click 'like'. We don't build; we retweet. Everywhere we go, someone...

Are two graphics cards really necessary?
No, dual SLI or crossfire is only an option, let's say you can't but a GTX 980 right now, you might want to buy a 950 now and another 950 in the future. Or maybe you just want to throw money away and buy two GTX 1080. Either way, you're fine with just one depending on your needs, the 980 still plays all games at Max fine.
