So I got lubuntu 14.04 for obvious reasons - no NSA cancer. And its a really good choice for a lightweight system that works. But now for some actual usage problems...
- the SALSA audio or whatever is called has HORRIBLE sound quality and you have to replace it with something better, which requires some skill to do..
- font rendering is HORRIBLE, you gotta get a fonts patch
- You wanna edit wordpad richtext files? Good fucking luck faggot, even if you put a font patch the program they have has HORRIBLE font rendering and you either have to try openoffice or get wine...

there are no nice themes for lubuntu, only ugly shit. So to actually make it look good you have to read for a few days and bug around the system, backing up themes, restarting a gajilion times and if you fuck something up....ughhhh
what else to say....firewall doesnt even come turned on. better than windows 10 cancer and no systemd cancer though.
Why dis you install the old LTS?
16.04 is out.

Gnome3 is crap but hardly a dealbreaker since they have like 8 other live spins and Debian is meant to be netinstalled anyway

titan x is more of a workstation rendering tool than a gaming card. it still has the most cuda cores.

So....I got a new job with a new managed service provider. Briefly, I've always been more so an infrastructure guy than a dev guy, in the past I've done night shifts at a NOC and picked up a ton of comfy IDS and malware analysis work which they figured was good work to give an afterhours person.
Anywho, my new company is painfully Microsoft. To a fault. They even require me to use this pale blue sans serif Web 2.0 looking font on all client facing emails. Everyone is obsessed with managing and optimizing our RDS and Exchange boxes, and I'm...

Be sure to have your inhaler and insulin on standby for when you wake up and realize that Microsoft is better than your GNU/Autismal shit.

This is a support thread for Meriken's Tripcode Engine.
3.2.7 (May 29, 2016)
Improve build script. Prepare packages for Ubuntu and Arch Linux:
https://launchpad.net/~meriken/+archive/ubuntu/ppa
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/merikens-tripcode-engine-v3-git/
"Meriken's Tripcode Engine" is a cross-platform application
designed to generate custom/vanity tripcodes at maximum speed.
It is arguably the fastest and most powerful...

This is what my tripcode rig used to look like. I got lazy, I guess.
Anyway, installation on POSIX systems should be pretty painless now. It took me a while to figure out Ubuntu packaging, but I think it was worth the effort.
I guess I picked a wrong day to create a support thread... Oh well. I will still be around, though.

Is gnome 3 good? How do you customize it? is it easy to change themes and icons?
>>54807042
>Is gnome 3 good?
No.
>How do you customize it?
Download themes and "extensions" from their website. Many of them break stuff.
>is it easy to change themes and icons?
Yes, but not easy to change anything else.
>>54807042
>Is gnome 3 good?
No, you can't even change the mouse scroll speed settings.
What a heap of shit.
> How do you customize it?
apt-get install plasma-desktop
>is it easy to change themes and icons?
Yes, look of KDE-Look after performing the above action.
Install GNU+Gentoo
What's a simple app we need a FOSS alternative for?
Bored out of my mind.
I'd like to have an FOSS Teamspeak alternative. And don't tell me there is mumble. Because it's shit.

Hey /g/,
I'm looking to finally rejoin the master race. I want to spend about 1,500€ (2,000€ tops), excluding a monitor, but for the life of me, I don't know what to get or what a good price for the components would be.
Could you help me with this endeavor? What would you buy for that amount of money? Will this get me a nice setup (living in Germany), or will I have to spend more?
fuck off underage

Planning to pick this up. I hate the neon bullshitcrap, I prefer simpler design when the keyboard also don't take half of my desk.
Literally the only thing I want is mechanical + NKRO/anti-ghosting
Any other suggestions?
