What single mechanic could they add to a main series game that would ruin Pokemon for you?
I think if they started introducing side-volutions that took pre-existing Pokemon and let them evolve into different types of themselves (like Eevee, but for everything) I might finally have to quit.
OP versions of final stage Pokemon that you're forced to use to remain competitive, but only a handful of Pokemon have them and they all look like shit.

When Pokémon Gold Version and Pokémon Silver Version made the debut of Dark and Steel types, the Pokémon landscape was changed forever. Recently, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y shook the game once again by introducing Fairy type. Now, we're proud to reveal a brand-new type coming soon to Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon: Hair type!
The introduction of the Hair type is sure to shake things up!
Offensively, Hair-type moves are super effective against Fairy and Water-type Pokémon, while being not very effective against Bug, Ice, Poison, and Rock types.
Defensively, Hair-type Pokémon resist Electric, Fairy, Flying, Ground, Ice, and Water-type moves, but Bug, Fire, and Steel-type moves are super effective against them.
POKEMON CHANGED TO HAIR-TYPE
With the release of the 19th Type, there are Pokémon from previous Pokémon games that will be reclassified as Hair-type Pokémon. They may look the same, but the strategies you'll choose and the way you use these Pokémon in battle will be unlike ever before!

nah Sun legendary will be a horse (chariot) or Crab/ram hybrid. Moon legendary is probs going to be a falcon for mythology reasons.
Did anyone else think that the Gen 5 games had a different feel to it? Like it didn't feel like the other games to me when I played it.
The story had some semblance of actually trying to be different.
I like how the ending is facing off against the final boss of the evil team instead of the champion like every other game.
Also the region is more "urban" feel to it compared to most of the other regions that have a more naturalistic setting.
I felt the same. I felt like I was playing a true jrpg like final fantasy or dragon quest instead of pokemon. The final main battle actually felt like a final boss. Didn't do the post game though.
Designs aside, I think Reshiram and Zekrom were handled better from a plot perspective than the other box legendaries. It was great that the antagonist used the other box legendary.
It seems every time a new female lead is introduced, Misty fans and Pokeshipper post angry rants, fanart, and posts about how all the other girls are bad.
People tend to forget Misty fans don't just dislike Serena and her crush on Ash. They also disliked Dawn a lot during DP too and constantly complained how girly she was or how she was a slut/whore.
And of course nobody could forget the Misty Vs. May debates from the early 2000's with Misty fans immediately hating May just because she "replaced" her.
Why do Misty fans have such rage...
