There is only two possibilities:

Let's hope it is the second one so you kids won't fight anymore. But even if it's first, it could kind off be like a new region and fix all the things you hate about the current Gen. So you can stop fighting now.
One thing is true: They won't let Kalos so unexplained like it is. So I guess it would be very hard for something besides this to happen. And any of those two makes everybody happy.

Literally everything listed is possible to encounter in a normal playthrough. In fact, you 100% will encounter the speed = crit from the first battle of the fucking game.
