Blue/Green was OK, since he actually was indeed ahead of you most of the game, but Silver... he was simply an edgelord who insisted you were weaker than him despite getting his ass handed to him at every turn.

Water starters are clearly the choice for completely normal people.
Fire starters are for kind of weird people. Picture the average fire starter fan as a sort of socially awkward person who maybe went through a goth phase a teenager.
Grass starters are for completely, no- turning- back autistic people. Picture someone who posts ms paint drawings of their fanfiction on deviantart.

How would a Pokémon MMO be? Some people think it would be so successful that handheld games would no longer sell, while others complain that it wouldn’t translate well (which is pretty valid for a lot of things). But imagine if you got to brainstorm for a PokeMMOn game with unlimited resources, how would you do it? What parts of the core Pokemon formula would you change? I’ll start

They don't expire they just become nolonger available to obtain at gamestop. As long as you have the codes unused they are still fine. I've tested this with mew so I know this to be true.
