Why not just make steel type effective against dragons?
steel would be op
Steel was already strong and had to be made weaker. Plus, depending on the story, a normal sword may not actually work on a dragon. I'm sure there's more then one where a weapon needs some kind of special property to fight dragons.
A one off steel move that works like freeze-dry but for dragons would probably be fine, though.
fairies introduced, dragons were nerfed, steel was buffed. Why not cut the middle man?

And am I wrong to say that it was really, really underwhelming to me? The whole time it just felt like I was pointlessly trodding around, and the battles were never really that exciting. The visuals were kind of nice here and there, but from all the praise, I was expecting something on par with BW or BW2.

I honestly don't get why castform gets such a bad rap. I mean yeah his move selection is more shallow than a kiddie pool and his stats are average at best, but he can OHKO beasts like mega t-tar and two shot Dragonite.

I've been editing the XYORAS models to make them more vibrant/saturated like the sprites of Gen 3/4/5, just for the hell of it. I've seen a lot of people complain about how the models are colored, so post any Pokemon/model you want me to edit and how. I can also do custom shinies if you have any, just nothing to time consuming or it might take forever to get done.
