This guy grow on me big time. At first I didn't care about him at all and based on the first evos I thought I might go with the owl. Unless the final evo is really shit or there will be a water type I like more, I'm gonna pick this guy.

Gen 1 took place in 1996, Gen 2 in 1999. Gen 1 and 2 are the only Canon remakes, so their years have to sustain. It is confirmed that Gen 3 and Gen 4 take place at the same time as Gen 1 and Gen 2. Since the games follow their year of release (not counting Gen 3 and 4 which are confirmed to take place at different times), Gen 5 must take place in 2010 and 2012, 11 years after Gen 2.

I think minus a few Pokemon having literal symbols carved onto their body for WOW THEMES there'll be jackshit other than a reference here or there. Sort of like how XY handled chaos and destruction v eternal life in a pretty shitty way.
However Sun and Moon having alchemical themes is pretty blatant. It won't be well done though. Why did they use the mundane element sign for Sulfur when they could use the actual Hellenic symbols for earth, fire, and water?

Wasn't everything in X/Y handled in a shitty way though? It's hard to use X/Y as a measure of quality in either direction when it was so terrible.

Been digging for a few days and I finally found an extremely easy Java application that applies a fully functional real-time Day/Night cycle to any Gen 3 game, and it looks great. It's also got Dawn, Dusk, Sunset, Sunrise, all that shit. The lack of a Day/Night system in the Vanilla games has ALWAYS bothered me.

Is this an actual edit to the ROM, like something you could put on a flashcart or any emulator and play, or is it some special emulator?
That nighttime looks good, the only hack I've played with day/night was Life of Guardians and it looked like shit but the palettes seem a lot better here.
