In terms of battle, in-game or competitively, does Flareon have ANYTHING going for it over the likes of Arcanine, Ninetales, Magmortar, Darmanitan, etc.?

Wow, that's really fast for a steel type. Fast mixed attacker is awesome, but Steel isn't particularly good on the offense. Since it's legendary I'm sure it gets godly coverage moves, though. Probably Flamethrower and Earthquake at the very least, since tons of Steel types and legends get those. Since Steel types generally don't get any recovery moves, I doubt it would do much in ubers, would probably be in OU competing for team slots with Scizor and Mega Metagross. It's fine in OU since Scarf Landorus and a bunch of other stuff still shit on it.

I wish GF would have a tournament with the original GB games.
There would be arcade-like machines where you could put your game cart in, but other than 'emulating' the battle the graphics, etc. would be original GB. There could be a Colour and Metals tournament, and each entrant would be able to get a legit Mew, since it was never distributed in the US.
Also, since the kiosks would check and make sure each Pokemon was 'legit' (considering how many glitches there were in the original GB games, this might be difficult to verify) and winners and runner-ups would get amiibo-like NFC trophies of their favourite Pokemon from their winning team that could be transferred to their 3DS games (with OT info, nickname, moves, etc. from the original games)
Autism aside, what do you guys wish would happen?
Also, imagine having an amiibo trophy of your favourite mon... even if you were a 'genwunner' and did not have the newer games you could keep it on display. Would be neat if they even had a name plaque with their nick on it.
I wish they would stop keeping onto things from twenty years ago like HMs and balance out their god damn type chart

Why isnt Blastoise used as much when compared to the other two starters?
Too many bulky waters that fill other niches better. Not strong enough to sweep and not bulky enough and has no recovery moves to wall.
Its mega is good but the problem with megas in general is that you have to forgo using an OP mega to bother with MegaStoise.
I wish my favorite was just a little bit better competitively. Bros since first playthrough.
Because Charizard is great offensively and Venusaur is great defensively. Blastoise is just mediocre and outclassed by a bunch of other shit

Why has Pokemon not progressed at all in 20 years?
The formula is still the same, the worlds are the same size, Saffron in RBY is barely any smaller and less populous than the largest cities in XY, the battle AI is just as dumb as they've always been, the competitive aspect has never had a proper attempt at balancing, the storylines remain completely pointless jokes and literally always just a recycling of a bad guy team trying to take over.
Could you imagine a Pokemon game that played like a good RPG, you know with an open world, places to explore, freedom, side quests, a good narrative. A game that actually used today's technology, you know 3D graphics, with worlds that look like they've had effort put into them? Remember Pokemon Colosseum? The main character wasn't another 10 year old in starter town, and the hubs actually had some life in them? Sure it still suffered from a lot of flaws that previous Pokemon games had, but it at least tried to be progressive?
You know why we'll never get another? Why bother doing something that requires so much time and effort when you churn out a rehash of the last game, and it will sell extremely well? Do you think Pokemon has a chance of progressing again, if sales start to dip?
If it is not broke, do not attempt to fix it.
People like the early 90s jrpg formula. I suspect this is the only thing GF is capable of doing. All we can hope for is they eventually perfect it because this is all pokemon is ever going to be for better or worse.
