When you make teams for ingame, do you allow yourself to repeat types, or does every single Pokemon have to be completely unique?

Depends honestly. I had three steel types in B2 (Lucario, Magnezone and Excadrill) and three Water types in AS (Swampert, Milotic and Walrein) but usually i rather dont duplictae types
I try not to repeat types but if it feels right I go with it

I think it would be cool if Diantha's team in Zygarde game would have a pokemon from every generation. It would give her the edge she needs and make her more challenging without limiting her to just 6th gen + mega

Go with Garchomp, Staraptor, or Lucario instead.
Why doesn't Archeops ever see much use even with such a crippling ability?
Just throw in a Roost and it'll still wreck anything with its high mixed Attack and Speed. I always use it.

Too frail, easy to revenge kill not many options in terms of stab thanks to rock having unreliable accuracy and flying it has acrobatics and thats about it which needs to have no held item to be worth a damn.
Personally its my favorite fossil and can catch people offguard with its awesome speed and attack.

Come up with one minor change that could help make it relevant.I think Delphox would actually be really solid if its old signature move, Mystical Fire, functioned as a fire type volt switch, rather than being a mediocre debuffing/damage move.

Fire Blast and Surf are major contenders, but Thunder was/is my favorite.
