Why doesn't Archeops ever see much use even with such a crippling ability?
Just throw in a Roost and it'll still wreck anything with its high mixed Attack and Speed. I always use it.

Too frail, easy to revenge kill not many options in terms of stab thanks to rock having unreliable accuracy and flying it has acrobatics and thats about it which needs to have no held item to be worth a damn.
Personally its my favorite fossil and can catch people offguard with its awesome speed and attack.
Thanks to its SR weakness, it comes in with 75%.
Thanks to its nonexistent defenses, it is likely to drop below 50% on the switch in.
Now its a sitting duck waiting to get finished. Till this moment, its done nothing useful whatsoever.
Even without Defiant being active, its not fantastic. It doesnt carry a Life Orb, so the 130 base power Acrobatics becomes a 100 base power attack in comparison to LO attackers.

He's easy to fit into a team
It has the hands down shittiest ability in the game and can only enter play once if rocks are up. It's movepool is also crap. It isn't really all that fast either.
Basically it's just a gimmicky sweeper.
I don't get why GameFreak gave him such a shitty ability, it's not like he'd be OP without it, well, it would depend on what ability they gave him as a replacement.

I use Archeops as a suicide lead in AG, the usual SR/Endeavor/Taunt/Head Smash lead. Works pretty well, even though I don't always lead with it when I see a Darkrai in the opposing team.
