In XY it was easy, the restaurants were great for both money and EXP. In ORAS it looks like the -ONLY- way are the shitty once per day battlers near the Maison, and the Pokemon League.

I don't think this is any confirmation of anything. I am absolutely not saying we will or won't get a Pokemon Z, but there isn't any reason for them to tell people they're allowed to use a game that hasn't been announced yet.
I don't think GF or TPiC have ever forced people to switch games mid format.

Fingers crossed. Grass could use a poster boy. For being the type of Pokedex #001 in every generation it sure gets neglected.

I lost interest in Soul Silver about two thirds of the way through the main game, and for a while after that I was just kind of burnt out on pokemon, really didn't get back into it until the next games came out. I remember as a kid being really excited when I found out you could go to Kanto after beating the Johto league, but then getting bored with it once I realized there really wasn't much to it aside from challenging the gyms. I was just curious if they fleshed out the Kanto area...

So now that Sceptile got into Pokken, I think it's safe to say that Swampert is the least popular Hoenn starter. It's small amount of popularity pretty much only comes from a meme (so I herd u liek Mudkipz).
Gen III is at least top tier in terms of starters. The only competition for better starters overall are Gen I and IV's.
