>What is this?
It's a Chinese mobile game where several Pokemon are turned into surprisingly great waifus and husbandos. You build a team of five (and one backup) and go through various stages and also fight people in a PvP arena. It's like Plants vs. Zombies except better because it's a waifu sim.
>How do I play?

iOS users: Go to the app store and look for Elves union.
If you can't play the game on mobile or want a faster playing quality, download BlueStacks, then download the above apk.

Most of us are on S04 Cerulean City although you can use any server, or several if you want to reset your team. S01-05 give the best rewards.
>Which starter should I choose?
Charmander or Bulbasaur, Squirtle choose your waifu
>How do I get X pokemon?
Tap on the Wiki button in the game menu, tap the pokemon you're looking for, and scroll down until you can find how it's obtained. You're usually gonna need to be lucky, though.
>How much should I spend on this game?
You can go totally free and do just fine since the game gives you quite a lot for free, as long as your rolls aren't total garbage. Get a Miltank as she’s a good early healer, even if she only is a 4-star. If you want to spend money for Pokestones, go up to VIP3 ($10 total) so that you can participate in the Server Fund once you hit level 20, which gives you lots of free Pokestones. You get Zapdos at VIP6 ($60) and Lugia at VIP10 ($700) but they're not really worth it.
>How should I build my team?
You have two options: 3 melee, 1 healer, 1 ranged; or 2 melee, 1 healer, 2 ranged. More details in the pastebin, or ask for advice. Try to fill your team with 15 quality 5-stars (purple stars).

Bring two healers in your team if you're going to tackle the Champion Tower, with this your team will be invincible.

Anyways, OP, please listen to me. I know that it's not really related to this thread. I went to the Safari Zone a while ago. You know, Safari Zone? Well, there was an insane number of people there, and I couldn't get in. Then, I looked at the banner hanging from the ceiling, and it had "150 Poké off" written on it. Oh, the stupidity. Those idiots. You don't come to the Safari Zone just because it's 150 Poké off, fool. It's only 150 Poké, 1-5-0 POKé for crying out loud. There're even entire families here. Family of 4, all out for some rare Pokémon, huh? How fucking nice.
"Alright, daddy's gonna catch a Girafarig." God, I can't bear to watch. You people, I'll give you 150 Poké if you get out of those bushes. The Safari Zone should be a bloody place. That tense atmosphere, where two guys on opposite sides of the U-shaped shrubbery can start a battle at any time, the Hyper-Beam-or-be-Hyper-Beamed mentality, that's what's great about this place. Women and children should screw off and stay home. Anyways, I was about to start catching, and then the bastard next to me goes "Chansey, use Rollout." Who in the world uses Rollout nowadays, you moron? I want to ask him, "Do you REALLY want to use a move that takes five turns?"
I want to interrogate him. I want to interrogate him for roughly an hour. Are you sure you don't just want to say "Rollout"? Coming from a Safari veteran such as myself, the latest trend among us vets is this, Farfetch'd. That's right, Farfetch'd. This is the vet's way of Pokémon catching. Farfetch'd means more green onion than anything. But on the other hand the price is a tad higher. This is the key. And then, it's awesome. This is unbeatable. However, if you catch this then there is danger that you'll be marked by the old toothless man next time; it's a Double-Edge attack. I can't recommend it to amateurs. What this all really means, though, is that you, OP, should just stick with battling Youngsters outside of Pallet Town.

For me I think I'd be okay with less mons if it meant getting back to comfy roots (exploring the world rather than trying to save it all the time) and if they did a little more with Pokemon-Amie, contests, & brought back trainer customization. I don't wanna get too carried away since Nintendo handhelds are only capable of so much, but I don't think I'm really asking for a lot.
I agree. I mainly just want them to go through and apply some semblance of balance to the game. They need to fix old mons before they introduce a lot of new ones.

i actually think a gens number of mons is indicative of its quality in that the gens with more mons usually feel like they had the most effort.
there should be a viable main story play style focusing on contests instead of badges, with the goal of top coordinator/kalos queen type thing.

I could understand why there were fewer in X and Y. Every Pokemon had to be modeled to 3D from the ground up, so it's not like they had much time. But for S&M now, since they have all the models done, there's no excuse as to why there won't be at least over 100.

I recently realized the more i dislike a pokemon the more likely i am to try and use it when i replay a game. to see if i can try and love it. Have any of you done this and if so what pokemon was it. and most importantly did it work?
