It is pretty delusional to think the game will release "overnight" or this week even. Just think of the last time you saw a major title release just out of the blue with 0 advertising.
First the website will be up, then it will be localized into all languages, then you'll have newsletters, official press releases, play guides, and only THEN you can hope the game will be released.

The real story behind this is actually kinda depressing. The kid who drew this had some kind of disease that basically ate away at him while also making his fingers look like they grew. He died some time ago. Art like this was his only way to communicate how he felt to the outside world.

It really reminds me of when I first saw Heracross as a kid and got hyped as shit for Gen 2. Just a solid god damn pokemon all around.
From an attempted objective point of view, I think most of the Gen 7 designs have been totally fine, but none of them were my cup of tea until this thing showed up. It'll probably stay one of my favorites even after the full dex is shown.
