Why must Pokemon ORAS suck so much ass?
For the longest time, Pokemon Emerald was my favorite Pokemon game of all times, for the amount of Pokemon you could find in the main story, as well for the post game content.
And after games like Pokemon HG/SS & B2/W2, which were easily some of the greatest Pokemon games to date in my opinion with the staggering amount of content in the game, as well as Pokemon available, it really makes you question what were Game Freak thinking by releasing an empty, shallow remake of Sapphire/Ruby without adding any of the content from Emerald, when they had in the previous games.
Not satisfied by just adding the boring part of the generation only, they decided to kick us harder by making the game far too easy, with Gym leaders offering little to no challenge with no incentive to have fun, and the game being completed (including that piece of crap Delta Episode, which was boring as all hell) in less than 25 hours, which falls really short compared to other games in the series.
I just hope GF releases an actual good game this year instead of X/Y as ORAS 2.0 in the scale of fun.

Yeah, really getting into the details there. Never mind the experience, or literally ANYTHING else about the game, it being easy, short and not having one thing makes it objectively a bad game.
Also, god forbid Baby's First RPG is easy. It's been easy since Gen 1. You just didn't think it was easy because you were literally five years old.
Oh, but the RNG Frontier was suuuuuper hard, right? So that made up for the fact that Emerald was easy as shit, right?

I can't make out anything on the TV but a strange jingle is playing. I recognize the tune but can't quite place the name.
Suddenly I awake on my rented bed at the top of the Pokemon Center in Pewter City. That was a strange dream.
I got up and followed my usual morning ritual of showering, brushing my teeth and getting dressed. It was snowing as it often did this time of year so I chose a white wooly jumper with black insulated, water proof leggings, heavy walking boots and a light blue windproof jacket. On my brown leather belt was a pouch with my six pokeballs and my cellular phone, as well as my flashlight and map of Kanto.
After thanking the nurse for her hospitality and lodgings I left the Pokecenter and headed east towards the next town.
My head was still spinning from that crazy dream but I was determined to regain my memory.

As I headed down Route 3 the snow was settling down, though there was a thin layer spread across the ground.
Suddenly I got dizzy again and I could hear that familiar jingle again as a vivid image of a fuzzy tv screen flashed in my minds eye.
A voice snapped me out of the vivid hallucination.

A young boy called out to me. Of course, this pretty much meant I had to battle, as I had learned very quickly since I lost my memory.

I reached into my pouch and pulled out the Pokeball with a water drop sticker on the front. A way of remembering which Pokeball contained which of my Pokemon as the amnesia made it hard to remember.

I called out pressing the button and releasing the Pokemon into the snowy battlefield. He looked back at me full of attitude and confidence. He seemed to trust me, it made me feel bad that I could barely remember him.
The young boy sent out his own Pokemon, a well developed Metapod with a determined look in his eyes.

the young boy heckled, sticking his tongue out.

What I truly dislike about ORAS isn't any of this.
It's that it took me completely out of the Pokémon universe.
So many lines in game that are direct references to the fan's desires, pop culture...
The sign in the Battle Resort literally says: "hey guys it's GameFreak, we know you wanted the Battle Frontier but fuck you".
The guy with his Flygon literally says: "alright haha, I know you guys really wanted a Mega Flygon so here's a Mega Stone. Haha got you it's for Garchomp, we're clever right? signed masuda btw do not steal".
And then some. And I don't even care about the BF and M-Flygon, it's just that they didn't have to tell us directly in game to fuck off.
It was more or less the same with XY and its NPCs spouting shit memes.
Sure there were the Game Freak employees in all the other games, but it's just one thing, confined into a single room in game.
Here it's fourth wall breaking all over the region.
Completely broke the magic.

That was probably the single most annoying thing for me. One of my favourite memories in Pokémon was getting XY at midnight launch and marathoning it overnight with friends, and actually finding megas we didn't already know about, even without intentionally avoiding the internet.
