Alright, but actually, they kind of do. They fit the design philosophy that has always been present, that is obvious. But you have to keep in mind that Sugimori was quoted saying some time recently that for the 7th Generation they wanted to take new designs back towards the aesthetic of the 1st and 2nd Generation, and this is evident in these new leaks. Just look at the prominent, angular muscles, very reminiscent of a lot of early Generation designs.

While the coloring is actually spot on for Pokemon art, including concept art, the line art is something to pay attention to. If you look up online the leaked photos from Wottergate, you'll see that the conceptual artwork leaked of the Pokemon had duller colors, lower resolution, and of course, the line art itself appeared a lot thinner, grainier. This matches up with these new leaks, as well.

Sugimori is already pretty much confirmed to have retired from Game Freak. His disciple Ohmura who joined during Gen 5 has official taken over Pokemon artwork. Just compare his Rowlet's coloring, shading and soft lighting, and lineart to that of Sugimori's. His style is blaring obvious, and it makes sense considering these new leaks look a lot like Ohmura's work.

That Roothoot shit at the bottom of Pic Related is just a little bonus for bants. I don't believe Roothoot to be real or fake just yet, but the almost exact face shared between it and the leak is admittedly funny, yet also suspicious. Let me just add that the other two "Pokemon" that were leak alongside Roothoot a few months ago were never seen side by side with Roothoot in the actual leaks themselves. Only speculative Roothootfags decided that all three of them were a batch of starters. The other two could've and most likely are irrelevant dex filler, if anything.

Friendly reminder that Solgaleo, Lunaala and Marshadow are still likely confirmed. Mokuroh, Nyabby and Ashimari are actually the japanese names for the starters. Leak Season hasn't been entirely fruitless.

So amongst all the hubbub and shitposting thats been going on with the starter evolutions, I was hoping that we could have some actual decent discussion on the potential typings of their evolutions, and the typings of the legends too.
Here are the typings that I think are most likely, in order of most preferred to least preferred
Rowlet:
Grass/Flying
Its a fucking owl it should be Grass/Flying
Litten:
Fire/Poison
Fire/Ghost
Fire/Dark
Fire
I really want Litten to be fire/poison cause its a pretty cool unique typing, and I think it could happen with the potential for the Brimstone marking on its forehead. Its a black cat so it could be a spooky Fire/Ghost, and Fire/Dark would be the obvious typing.
Popplio:
Water/Fairy
Water/Psychic
Water/Fighting
It has a circus theme, so it could be either a fairy or psychic clown, or a fighting strongman. The website does say it sometimes uses too much strength.
Solgaleo:
Fire/Electric
Fire/Psychic
Fire
Sun=Fire. The way it has some yellow in its design could indicate electric, which makes sense cause the sun is all about energy, and fire and electric are both energetic types. Psychic cause the way the cosmic part of its head looks.
Lunaala:
Ghost/Fairy
Ghost/Psychic
Dark/Fairy
Dark/Psychic
Fairy/Psychic
It looks very etherial, which to me indicates ghost type, and its association with the moon makes me think its a fairy type. It could also stand for darkness, giving it a dark type, and the way its always floating and because it looks like Olympia I could see it as a psychic type.
What do you guys think?
