It makes the game so luck based its unreal. This is the reason one-hit KO moves are not allowed, because luck has no place in a pokemon game.
But yet still we have shit like scald, where switching in a grass pokemon to tank that water attack might get it burned. All the types that resist water, hate burns, it makes no sense for them to be able to inflict this status while also hurting you.
Once you get burned once by a scalder, its over, the chip damage will eat away at your team and your sanity until you shrivel into a dried burnt-up husk of the trainer you used to be, while the scald user just sits there laughing and spamming his no-risk ultra-benefit Scald.
Why is this the mascot of Pokemon? Why not Raichu or Pichu?

We all thought Thousand Arrows and Waves are to counter Xeneas and Yveltal but why would Zygarde want to prevent Xerneas from flieing with Waves since Fairy Xerneas is super effective against him?
Maybe Thousand Arrows have to make Lunaala fall down to the ground and Thousand Waves are supposed to trap Solgaleo which most likely wll be Fire type and then Ground Zygarde will deal with him easily?
Also Thousand Arrows -> arrows symbolises sun rays -> symbolic "Sun Rays" to beat the Moon legend
Thousand Waves -> Tidal waves affected by Moon -> symbolic "tidal waves" to beat the Sun legend
Maybe those moves exist to counter Solgaleo and Lunaala instead of Xerneas and Yveltal

First thing: it's the 20th anniversary, the marketing strategy is very VERY different from XY
We're 4 months in and we only know the new starters (which, imo, are a lot more characterized than the last two batches [god damn it unova starters])
We know that customization is back
We know that the new graphic is a step up
The region is surely gonna be interesting, I mean they've gotta be working on it for years since XY and ORAS were bluntly a beta of the 7th gen.

Popplio has really grown on me over the past few days. At first I thought "oh great, another really cartoony starter" but after rewatching the reveal trailer and looking at some fanart popplio is starting feel like a loyal friendly dog. I'm starting to love his character and don't know if i'll pick him or the owl.

I liked him the least of all the new starters initially because I don't really like clown characters that much, but he has grown on me.
But in the end, it's always the final evolution that matters most to me; I took Oshawott in BW because I liked Samurott, for example, even though I don't like Oshawott's goofy nose.
And in XY I chose Chespin even though he was my least favourite initially because I wanted to try Leech Seed+Spiky Shield. So, for me at least, everything is still on the table in terms of starters.

Consider this. Since trainer customization it pretty much confirmed, maybe SM will include all the one game features like pokemon following you, making pokeballs, battle frontier and pokemon amie. Am i just being too hopeful?
