What would Cavalry look like in the Pokemon world? What Pokemon would be suitable for cavalry? What Pokemon could still be viable for war but not cavalry (like a war elephant kind of deal)?

I don't have the time to go back through my games and fill this out but my team in Crystal was just my Typhlosion, and in Sapphire I bumped it up to a diverse Blaziken, Swellow, and Kyogre. Then I learned to actually use a full team for more than just HMs.

Why do people give these games so much credit? It's essentially DLC except you have to buy an entirely new game again if you already bought the previous version. BW2 I understand because at least that added to BW's story and changed things up instead of just retconning and rehashing it.
I never played Emerald, and my wife never played a pokemon game before.

Hey /vp/, I never really lurked here. And I'm getting back into pokemon after I was let down with how my home New York, New York was portrayed in GenV. I'm hoping to come back into GenVI or wait for GenVII.
I've been fiddling with Pokemon showdown to build a team and I need some help. I never really down anything competitive and there's so many things to think about and so much shitty looking pokemon I don't want to use but have really good stats.

Anyways there are a couple of things Mega Gardevoir has to watch out for, mostly steel-types:
>Metagross
>Jiarchi
>Sand Rush Excadrill
>Scizor
>Scarf Magnezone
Are the main ones. Fast Poison types like gengar and beedrill beat you too, and plenty of pokemon take advantage of your merely okay speed and garbage defense so Tailwind or Magnezone can be helpful. You might want to try Tyranitar since Bravest Bird and Bravest Bug beat Mega Gardvoir, etc
