It will be stat boosters like it is in Pokken.
GF realized they cant keep making mega and wastingdesign time and energy making new models and art and movesets and abilities for past pokemon. they also realized theycant add more and more mega stones, that just fill up your bags, for you to just use one of them. Syncro may change typing like megas did but i highly fuckin doubt it. it will just be raw stat boosters. and it might not even last the entire fight. but rather only like 5 turns as to be used strategically.
They were purposely made to have the weaknesses everyone is complaining about. If they overcome them, the form change will probably be a massive boost in stats. You people are retarded. Look what they did with Primal Groudon, not giving a single shit about Water at all.

Why are people getting so butthurt over something so insignificant. Their typing makes sense but Solgaleo could have been a fire type and Lunala a dark or fairy type. The point is it doesn't really matter at least to me. I never use legendaries. I remember being hyped for Yveltal. I literally used it in two wild battles then boxed it.

What are the chances that the city where the Magearna movie takes place is that castle city in Alola? They have similar looking walls assuming the anime exaggerates them a bit

I have a feeling the new legendaries are using dual type moves.
Solgaleo uses it's attack against Salamance and it's normal effectiveness. Both Steel and Psychic are normal effectiveness against Salamance.
Lunala uses it's attack against Gengar and gets super effectiveness. Both Ghost and Psychic and Ghost are super effective against Gengar.
I think Nintendo chose these match ups purposely so they didn't spoil the dual type moves.
