This, in my opinion, is the most hilarious time after seeing the starters for the first time.
You get that initial unveiling, in which a clear favorite is picked (In the case of this gen, Rowlet), then you get the pokemon that looks decent that you wouldn't mind picking on a second playthrough (Litten), and then you get the absolute abortion tier - "Oh god why does this thing even exist" pokemon (Popplio).
Then we get to this time. A few days after said unveiling, people start to crave attention and want to feel unique, so they flock to the pokemon that looks like literal shit in an attempt to stand out. Little do they know, a bunch of other retards have done the same thing, so lo and behold, your hipster choice is now no longer hipster, you're again a part of the majority, only now you're supporting a garbage looking pokemon with no real feeling of uniqueness.
Watching these literal fedora wearers go through these same motions every time this shit happens is pure, undiluted comedy gold.
