Hey /v/, I'm going through most of my Pokemon games and replaying them. Trying to decide whether to replay Gen 3 or go straight to Gen 4.
I'll be replaying OR either way, and while Emerald is much better, the lack of physical/special split is kind of a turn off, and Firered just feels kind of stale nowadays.

Every pokemon can "Mega Evolve" now, with the use of the wrist band.
Called "Sync Boost", you can give the "Sync Stone" to a pokemon of your choice, with which it can reap the benefits of the wrist band.
There is a menu to distribute stat boosts that are granted by the Sync Boost, in all stats except HP. So, in that effect, even NFE pokemon can be granted Stat boosts, up to a total of 100 points total.
This way, any Pokemon that is your favorite, can be effective as well.

My guess would be that the other islands are named Ulaula (Red), Polu (Blue) and Omaomao (Green). It would make sense, seeing as how it's the series' 20th anniversary. A nice throwback to the first generation.
Alternatives are after the actual island's colors.
Or Red Yellow Black and White if GF wants to beat us over the head with the alchemy shit.
