Finally got my hands on it. I work for a company that distributes goods to stores including Barnes and Noble and other book stores. they've got these on high security (they don't ship until October but our job includes storing and sorting them until then). My coworker was assigned a shipment that included several boxes of these guys and I was able to unwrap one of them and flip through a couple pages (if I get caught I would get fired and the company would get severely penalized by NoA). I will take and post as many pics as I can on Tuesday, but until then enjoy the front cover.
Here's what I saw:
>Full art of Hoku (rival/guide, whose name was actually revealed in an easter egg in the japanese sun and moon trailer), Kukui (who has a small ferret looking pokemon by his side that looks like its ground type and is mud themed but no name given next to it), Professor whose name is Hala, and a blonde haired girl named Caitlyn who wears a blueish purplish sun hat and white shorts who also recently moved to Alola and seems like she is the more rival-ish person based on their short descriptions. Each character had their own page with full art.

Hey /vp/, I've been playing pokemon since year 1 and now I've ran out of things to do. I've completed the dex in all 6 gens, have 2 living dex stored in pokebank and a shiny living dex (minus shiny locked ones, like meloetta).
So now I want to start a new game and use pokemon other than my regulars.
So rules are
dubs pick my team
1 pokemon per dub
basic mons only
first six dubs win
A trip is still a win and will make me unable to evolve said pokemon.
Lets see what I get.

Because Game Freak needs the moola, almost guaranteed to happen. Gen 7 is too early though, Gen 4 is still playable on the 3DS.

I dont even like the region, its not comfy to me at all, unbearably slow. Who wants to walk through that sandstorm? Its rediculous, only enjoyable thing that came out of it was leafeon. Not to mention Lucario and all the disgust that came out of it. BW2 forced to use riolu in that movie scene. Then in XY im forced to use it in a battle. Its just rediculous

So with the S/M starters looking so shitty I though why not transfer a level 1 from X/Y and use that as my starter.
I have always wanted a Ghost starter, but my all time favorite Gengar does not evolve unless you give him away, even if I trade my haunter for another I would be getting one with shitty IVs
same thing goes with Pumpkaboo which was my second choice.
Here is where Mismagius comes in.
It has dam good stats and you can evolve it at level 1 (with dusk stone). So I hatch a Misdreavus and evolved it at level 1 into Mismagius, it has perfect IVs and I plan to use it as my main poke in the game. I already TM the attacks I want it to have, speedy glass cannon build.
Anyone else tired of the grass/water/fire starter types?

Why would you evolve it right away? It's not really fun having a fully evolved pokemon right from the beginning that can wreck everything in sight.
But, whatever. You can play however you like.
Box your starter and play through the game with new alola Pokemon. Having an IV/EV trained mon with egg moves is going to make things easy. And then you'll come back crying that SM held your hand too hard.

Only people that aren't underage fags remember talking about Mew on the playground and exchanging rumors. Honestly I don't remember the "under the truck" meme ever being prevalent, but there still were a lot of rumors on how to find it. Also things like the ghost being catchable, 4th evolutions and 3-typed pokemon, etc.
