I've been wanting something like this for a while so I'd welcome it.
Though it would probably be a significantly more difficult challenge for people just getting into the games so I could see and completely understand why it would never happen.

Each gym now has a battle gimmick.
First gym is obsessed with having maximum coverage moves, almost every pokemon has hidden power.
Another gym has baton pass on almost every pokemon.
Another gym is a stall team.
Entry hazards and phasing.
Hyper offense team.
Another has risky moves like dynamic punch, stone edge, even gift.
Actually this doesn't work that well. It would be great for the elite four though.

I hope Popolio's evos would look more like a literal sea lion such as being a pinniped with a mane. I can see the mane working with the clown theme as clowns have neck frills. It can have an ascetically appealing intimidation factor while still retaining the clown motifs.
The arms in the final evo look a little like Kyogres but other than that these are pretty cool

This. This is what I hate about Pokemon. They are constantly casualizing these potentially amazing Pokemon designs, giving them washed out designs and simple, boring looks.
Look at the far left. Ditto (Gen 4) is literally a FUCKING BLOB. No thought whatsoever.
On the right, the two Pokemon (Grimer and Muk, Gen 1) are blobs, sure, but they have realistic sludge for bodies, and are nicely detailed.
Honestly, Gen 1 and 2 did it the best. The rest are washed out degenerate scum.

Make Your Own Gym thread
You can pick just one type or do the whole thing if you're an overachiever like I am.
Feel free to imagine yourself as the gym leader or creating characters.
I'm doing the former.
>Bug Gym
A forest camp that opens at night. It has a campfire around which Bug Pokémon like to gather. The puzzle involves finding hints inside tree logs, underneath rocks and under leaf piles. Gym Leader looks like a boy scout.
>Dark Gym
A fortune teller shop. The gym puzzle is going through a mirror corridors to get to the gym leader. The final room is very cliche, with a crystal ball, incense and throw pillows. The gym leader is mostly fake and phoney, but can ocasionally get a prediction right due to his Gothitelle.
>Fairy Gym
A huge plushie paradise, full of toys. The puzzle involves going through this labyrinth and distinguishing between real Pokémon and the plushies. You have to watch carefully for signs of them moving. If you walk in front of one of the real ones, it's a battle. Gym leader is the one that collects all of the dolls.
>Fighting Gym
A typical anime school, only open as a gym after classes are over. You have to go through the rooms battling the tough guys who are cleaning up as a punishment for breaking school rules. The gym leader isa cute but spoiled twink who somehow managed to get all the bullies to work for and defend him. I wonder how he does that :^) [\spoiler]
The others are pretty self explanatory I think.
