Let's play The Connection Game, /vp/. I'll post a Pokemon, and then someone'll post another Pokemon that shares something in common with it, and then the chain will go on ad infinitum.
But there's some caveats. No connecting pokemon that are part of the same evolutionary family, being of the same type or generation is not a good enough reason to connect two pokemon, and no reason for connection should be used more than once. Get creative and such.
For example, Magneton can be connected to Dodrio because they're both trios, but Dodrio shouldn't be connected to Dugtrio for the same reason, or because they're both Gen I, but they CAN be connected because they're both brown, start with D, appear to be angry, have pretty high speed, etc.

Yes and no, it's hard to explain for me but it's the fact that we have a main character striving for a goal that pulls me in (even though I know he'll never achieve it) but I am more interested in the Pokemon and their behaviour.
I liked the episode where pikachu and the gang got stranded in Pokemon land and they were all communicating with each other as well as the animated shorts such as Pikachu's vacation. So I guess a "slice-of-life" spinoff would be cool but it wouldn't gather that much steam or at least I think it won't anyway.

Dude i'm an avid gen oner, like i have about 50 lvl 100 pokemon on my gen one cart with ideal movesets which means farmed tms from other carts. Gen one is fun, but pokemon is better today. Is it worth ten bucks for the one time play through, yes. Is it interesting because its old, you're a fucking hipster. It's not hard just because gen six is super easy. Does the legend of zelda suck, you fucking know it, was it great then yes. Are donkey kong country 2, a link to the past, and super mario brothers complex while enjoyable games yes. There is a middle ground. Gen 1 pokemon is nostalgic, but not great.

It's not an animal-fighting game though, all of the Yo-kai monsters are based on their real life yōkai counterparts. They're all based on Japanese spirits and folklore so the weird ones are actually very justified with these games.

What if Rock and Steel types had a Hardness Rating"? Harder rocks resist Rock type attacks from less hard rocks. Steel types don't universally resist themselves anymore, they only resist Steel attacks from less hard steel types. Non-Rock/Steel types are treated as having a hardness of zero. In addition, Steel is no longer universally Super effective on Rock, it uses the hardness system too.
Tyranitar, for instance is has Sandstone armor, so it would have a hardness of 2. Diancie is made of Diamonds so it would have a Hardness of 10.
So a Tyranitar's Stone Edge wouldn't be very effective against Diance, Diancie's Stone Edge would be neutral to Tyranitar, and Tyranitar would resist Conkledurr's Stone edge (Because Conkeldurr isn't a Rock/Steel type and would have a Hardness of 0). Which rock types would be the hardest? Which Steel types would be the hardest?
