So catching more of the same pokemon is how we'll be able to evolve shit in GO. Kind of a weird concept, but I can dig it somewhat. Especially because it gives us something to do once we've caught everything in our area.
The gym mechanic sounds pretty cool, too. Pure teamwork, and gives you more options, put your ace in your current gym or keep it with yourself to train more
I hope they don't add a feature to trade Pokémon.

When I saw Mawile for the first time I liked it was the only Pokemon that it's back sprite showed its face, but I was a bit disappointed that it was a shitmon. Now it has a Mega and is one of the best Pokemon available.
Either a Scyther or a Scizor has been on every competitive team I've fielded since Gen 1. Bullet Punch, who art buffed by Technician, hallowed be thy name.

Is it worth playing through Vanilla Emerald?
I've can play hacks of all gen. So should I just pick a different version? Or play an ORAS hack? I dislike having all pokemon avaible in a single pokemon game, it devalues individual routes.

It is way worse than Emerald, the Battle Frontier was casualized as fuck, the Battle Pike no longer has wild Pokemon, you are the only trainer with Mega Stones, everybody only use Hoenn Dex mons (which is full of shitmons). At least the Battle Tower is as hard as Battle Maison.
