This is probably a stupid question but I'm pretty confused. New to battling outside of main series.
Why does it seem like every moveset idea for Gengar puts EVs in SpA and then they make all his moves physical attacks? Like don't poison/ghost/fighting type moves all use the attack stat?

Starting in Generation IV, attacks are individually classifed as Physical or Special, it's no longer based on type. So for example, Flamethrower and Hyper Beam are Special, while Fire Punch and Tackle are Physical.

Why do you think GF abandoned the day/night cycle in Gen 3, only to have certain effects of it still be in place (for example, you can still get Umbreon/Espeon in these games, if you have Eevee level up in the correct conditions based on your games internal clock at the respective timeslots, but no day/night)?

Why does /vp/ always say Gamefreak hates Raichu, it's rejected etc because of Pikachu, when literally the opposite is true?
If Pikachu wasn't made the franchise mascot, Raichu would just be a regular electric type like Electrode or Magneton.
Raichu basically benefit's from Pikachu's popularity, and is one of the more well-known Pokemon thanks to being Pikachu's evolution.

Gamefreak really only puts a lot of focus on a few Pokemon (Pikachu, Charizard, Mewtwo, Lucario).
Raichu isn't harmed by Pikachu's status as series mascot. In fact, I think it benefits a little from it.
I like Pokémon because of the sense of adventure and escapism, how about you anon, what about Pokémon whether it be cards, anime or games appeals to you?

I like monsters that are cute, cool, or better yet, a mix of both, which pokemon has in spades.
I like the Adventure and Escapism too but it hasn't really been that strong for me since Gen III.
I used to really like all the artwork before it got all plasticy and the character designs became super thin with big shining eyes. At least the trading cards have nice artwork still.
