Curious as to what goes through peoples mind when creating a team.
Do you guys use Fire-Water-grass core?
Do you use Steel-Dragon-Fairy?
What types do you feel you need to have on a team?
Do you have weird quirks when it comes to team building? An example being no overlapping types.
How do you guys feel about using non-mega form pokemon on a team? An example would be if you have two potential megas like Alakazam or Scizor on the same team.
My main team has a steel/dragon/fairy core + poison

I just browse the Smogon RMT forum and take a team that got a high rating.
I usually start with whatever Pokemon I'm digging on at the moment. Toxicroak is a good example. Then I pair him with a Gliscor to counter ground weakness, a dark type for psychic weakness, etc, just filling spots with counters to typings and Pokemon that counter what i've got already.
Why does no one talk about this spinoff series? I can't be the only one who wants a sequel with all the fully-evolved starters playable, right?

Fairy types are nice and cuddly. There's no one as nice and cuddly as Altaria, the pokedex entry basically says it uses it's wings to make you a bed then sings you lullabies. If that's not nice and cuddly you can get the fuck off my face.Altaria was my favorite dragon before megas simply because of the look and the dex entry.

Favorite place?
Probably favorite place in Hoenn.
I don't find it particularly stunning visually, but the place had more lore and backstory connected to it than the rest of Hoenn combined. I especially liked the letters between Cosmo and his dad.
Much more interesting than the abandoned ship in RSE at least. GF can write some good lore even if some of their design choices can be questionable at times.
